Why?

They talked about the handshake, but did not mention the role that Cuba played in ending Apartheid. They want to focus on the negative aspects which all countries have including the U.S.

President Clinton wanted Nelson Mandela to ditch Cuba, he said no. Anybody saying he sold out his country should see in this example that he did not waiver to please the U.S.

While he was rotting away in that hell hole on Robben Island catching diseases that ultimately killed him, Cuba was sending military aid to topple the regime that the US supported. Nelson Mandela was on some type of terrorist watchlist to 2008.

This could have been the reason that the embargo was implemented.


Clearly there is self censorship information to the public which could change perception.
