Cellular Store Question

depends on what you want to do and what you want to sell, but it can range from 3k and up

Is it hard to get setup with a company like sprint or verizon to sell their phones? Which carriers dont want you to sell in the same store as other brands?

it depends on the market. t-mobile you can have as many stores in one place as long as they are 200 ft from each other. Cingular you can have as many stores as long as they are not in view of one another. Verizon doesn't care, Alltel's the only one that stips a limitation of stores in a area. sprint and nextel right now are cash money hoes so you can have them right next to each other.

I am sure this was covered before but now my uncle is about to retire and he wants to get into something.

...so as an example.....sprint.

Do I contact them as ask to be an agent? From there is it pretty my laid out by sprint? Since this would be a new venture I dont want to get too fancy. I would stick to what they offer and do the accounts and activations.

you can contact sprint directly, yes. it takes about 6 weeks to get setup and in their system before you can start ordering phones. they will provide you with all P.O.P. displays, dummy phones, brochures and tons of extra stuff to setup your store.

with dealing with sprint directly you have to maintain a quota or they will drop you. you can use a master agent and still sell sprint though. you don't have to worry about quotas or anything. If your looking to setup a store selling sprint, their are a few different options of doing it. if your looking to do a mall kiosk/cart figure investing about 25-30k. if your looking to do a standalone figure more into 55k

55k ? I hope you are referring to a stand alone store with the big ass sprint sign out front. I am more along the lines of a store that carries a few brands and also sells prepaid. No exclusive brand, just a store. It wont be a big operation to start with because its a small town that my uncle grew up in. Most people will probably come in to pay accounts or buy pre paid cards.

55k was for a standalone store.

25k-30k was for a kart kiosk

the phones aren't cheap to buy up front

avg price for a popular phone out of your pocket is about 250 and up

the free phone is usually 180.00

that 55k includes everything needed to be done to sell sprint or any other carrier for that matter if you want to be able to stock phones and look like a store.

understood....

lucky for us....the market we are thinking about wont be too picky with the type of phones we keep in stock.....

thanks for the insight.....
