Cavs vs Spurs

Well. I got half of it right. The Cavs kicked my Pistons ass... Gibson was the unsung hero of the series and Lebron impressed me even more in game 6 by staying within the flow of the offense after a huge performance in game 5

The Spurs are playing the best ball in the NBA right now.. but the Cavs did sweep them during the series.

My heart is with the Cavs (keeping the trophy in the east), but I think the Spurs take this in 6.

up til now, i had only picked my conference winners.

i got miami VERY wrong, but i got san antonio correct.

my pick for the finals (assuming no injuries for either squad) is speuros in 5. god damn reggie miller just bit my pick.

dwyane wade last year, lebron james this year, is carmelo's year next year?

NEXT!

I'd love to see Carmelo in the finals, but I doubt it'll happen. Their inside man (Camby) is averaging more rebounds than he is points! (7.6 points; 14.8 rebounds). That's good for the defense (only 2.4 offensive rebounds), but they will need an inside scorer for Duncan (yes, I'm saying it now; the Spurs will be in the finals next year, unless they take a year off). If not the Spurs, then I don't know. It's wide open in the west.

I want to say the Mavericks will be better, but after this year, I don't know. They had their asses handed to them and Houston is too inconsistent to win a title.

I would say that AI and Carmelo should be able to make up the difference in the scoring (26.3 and 28.9, respectively), but there's only one ball, and the game is only 48 minutes long.

I said this in a previous a few months back. Denver would NOT compete for a title this year. Their weakest position is the wests strongest) Not to mention you put A.I. in the team mid-way through the season. Give them a full season and see what they do. They'll make it to the second round next year..

The Nuggets went on a run when they developed a defensive identity, but Karl is not a defensive minded coach. I will be curious to see what happens if/when K-Mart comes back but mark my words...

Larry Brown will be coaching the Nuggets within the next 2-3 years.

The pivotal matchup in this series will not be Bowen/James..but Larry Hughes/Tony Parker. Hughes did a GREAT job on both Tayshaun Prince and Chauncey Billups. That has to carry over to this series.

I've only seen part of one Nets playoffs game. But I'll try to add something.

Understand Daniel Gibson played a HUGE role in the Cavs "upset" of Detroit.
Well, I can guarantee that Gibson will NOT have the same impact on this
next series. No way Pop let's some rookie (or almost rookie) shred his dee
the way Flip did. Experience will play a big factor in this series. So Larry
Hughes MUST play like he wants to win (not just score). If Hughes doesn't
step up (I don't think he will), then either Snow or Damon Jones must make
a tremendous contribution for the Cavs to have any chance.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Cavs played the Spurs what?? Twice?
Games probably weeks apart as well. I don't think that qualifies as a sweep.
Not in my book. Not 2 games.

Cavs have no answer for Duncan, Spurs have no answer for Lebron. If
James continues to play unselfish ball, Bowen will NOT be able to guard
him. It still won't make a difference, because no one on the Cavs frontline
will be able to guard Duncan either

X-Factor: Donyell Marshall If he or Jones is hitting those 3's, the
Cavs chances increase exponentially

OFF TOPIC:

Denver can win. Camby doesn't have to score alot of points
because Nene will take care of that. Anthony will get inside
points as well. The Nuggets frontline is set.

The only question is whether their bigs (all 3) will see enough
of the ball with Iverson at the point. Or wherever he is in the
backcourt.

If he can limit himself to 10-14 shots (in 40 minutes), then the
Nuggets chances are as good as any other team out west
after SA

Unfortunatley..this is where Boozer is sorely missed by the Cavs. They needed each other
