The Cleveland Cavaliers appear to have beaten the NBA's annual trade buzzer to get LeBron James some of the fresh help he's been openly craving.

In a three-way trade with Chicago and Seattle that has been submitted for league approval, NBA front-office sources say that Cleveland will come away with four new teammates for James, headlined by Ben Wallace from the Bulls and sharpshooter Wally Szczerbiak from the Sonics.

The league office was notified of the deal before Thursday's 3 p.m. ET trading deadline, sources said, and is currently reviewing the trade details as required for formal approval.

After Cleveland watched two longstanding trade targets land elsewhere -- Mike Bibby in Atlanta and Jason Kidd in Dallas -- sources say that the deal calls for the Cavaliers to receive Wallace, Szczerbiak, Seattle point guard Delonte West, Chicago's Joe Smith and a future second-round pick from the Bulls.

The Bulls, apparently abandoning their gamble on Wallace less than two seasons into the lucrative four-year deal they used to sign him away from Detroit, would get Cavaliers forward Drew Gooden and swingman Larry Hughes along with Cavs reserves Cedric Simmons and Shannon Brown.

The Sonics, shedding Szczerbiak in the name of additional payroll flexibility, come away with the expiring contracts of Cleveland's Ira Newble and Chicago's Adrian Griffin as well as Cavs veteran Donyell Marshall.

this is a good thing...they got a solid big man and another good shooter who can still run...they are definitely playoff bound...why wouldn't labron resign with cleveland, and where would he go that he wouldn't be back at square 1? they built the team around him...the lakers is his only option

Looks like WE goin back 2 the finals! CHEA!!!!!

Muthaphuckin' Yes!!!!!!!! Drew Gooden was a soft BUM. Larry Hughes isn't a shooter. I don't know what he is. Thank GOD we got some defense.

this was a dumb trade ben wallace is washed up as well as being a terrible free throw shooter. Wally can't play a lick of defense. :smh::smh: Lebron is def leaving you guys now

u got two defenders(7 Ft) IN THE MIDDLE. Two swing men. A point man. And Lebron can play any position.

Finals

:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

cant believe so many of you are gettign excited about this trade.
did yall not see how MONEY HUNGRY ben wallace played while in the Chi?
.....and Szczerbiak.... :hmm:
look at the players that the cavs let go.
only thing that looks good to me is the fact that Ben is out of chicago
..............and on a bad note...they got rid of joe smith.....who was really a better big man/overall player than ben wallace.

first the bears....now the bulls with all these money hungry and shitty players

larry huge and drew gooden are good players....but dont we have enough Guards already?

The NBA is gonna have to contract about 6 teams in the next few years. Way too much talent going to just a few teams and FAR too many sorry assed 1-2 year college cats getting on teams' benches.

Just my thoughts.

D-Nice 1 (The Nice One)

The Cavs just locked up the East....for Boston or Detroit.

Why they would want a washed up Ben Wallace is beyond me.
Ben Wallace...:lol::lol:at least Gooden could make a shot or free throw.

And Wally?...and how many teams gotta tell you that Delonte West can't play??:lol:

Cleveland's GM will be fired by next year this time...

crazy ass year for the nba for sure. all of these trades happening as a reaction to the Gasol trade :D

Hmmm, not sure about these moves as of yet. I'm not sure if CLE actually gained much out of moves with the exception of Joe Smith. Gotta see how this plays out. Well one thing is for sure, they damn sure didn't lose anything.

I feel that, but a change definately had to be made for the Cavaliers. This team wasn't going anywhere with the squad they already had, and Gooden & Hughes weren't as productive as they could've been.
