Pretty much the latter. He wasn't really dissing nobody to get a response. Only niggas that are salty are probably NY cats for the "King of NY" line so you gonna see a lot of them respond except Asap Rocky because he's just gonna embarass himself. Ferg might do it since he has nothing to lose. But niggas like J. Cole, Drake, Pusha, etc.? They all coo with each other. J. Cole capable though he might drop something with a different beat.
 
I swear I was making a new thread about this shit and it ended up as a response in your thread. None the less Lyrically Cassidy built momentum as track went on and to me his content won but the track is very important too. A lot of responses don't have the right tracks. Ether by Nas was timing of God himself to let us witness battling of two of the industry's top guns. Cassidy's response was dope though!!

if dude drops an album wit straight bars it wont get any radio play, no spins in the club and white kids might not buy it
most labels wont give the ok on the an album like that cause they'll figure the shit wont sell
an even though somebody like us might buy an album were the nigga straight rips the beat on every track not too many others will, ie. canibus, papoose( mixtapes but still)

or they go the other route an follow the old school formula for makin albums an they maybe get air play an spins at the club but core fans are busy wonder what happened. remember drag-on's album or what about cass last shit B.A.R.S.

And people wonder why the game is fucked up the way it is. Old white dudes sitting in record exec offices and bullshit radio stations have WAY TOO power over what gets pushed and what doesn't.

Funny thing is, I haven't thought about Drag-On's album in a minute, but I actually like it. Liked Cass last joint too. I'm about to put both on them on the Ipod right now. Listen to some classic Drag and X in the morning before work. When I get in, people better stay out my way :lol::lol:
