Cartoons used to be very educational. I remember watching eureka's castle, lamb chop, barney, gullah gullah island even teenage mutuant nija turtles. Master splinter was allways dropping knowledge ad giving quotes to the turtles when they messed up.

When I was watching The Dinosaurs, they delt with every day issues. Rugrats, little kids that delt with real life issues.

These new cartoons.....I don't watch them like that but the few that I have seen it looks like a bunch of animation and imagination mixed with comedy.

I learned a lot from this cartoon when I was younger..I would know most of the answers in history class from watching this..

Can't agree...there's more educational shows now...look at Saturday mornings then and now...? Disney took over and made it all friendly and semi educational. Plus they got Yo-Gabba Gabba, Little Bill and shit load of shows on Sprout and Nick Jr. If anything kids (especially boys) are missing out on good imaginative cartoon action/adventure and quality animation to go along with it.

:yes::yes::yes:

My kid knew that TV was a treat my Mc Nasties... every now and then they will get some... never had any games connect to the set. If it was a video game it had to be on a PC...
My age is showing...

Earlier today I glimpsed a bit of the new loony tunes and yosemite sam had ordered a russian mail order bride and I was like  no wonder the youth so fucked up these days :smh:

The original Looney Tunes wasn't meant for kids. It's just that they were edited down to work for kids when television came around. And some of the eps was edited even further by the 80s and 90s came around. Anyhow, the new episodes aren't that much different than a Dreamworks CG movie. Young kids won't get it, older kids sort of do, and adults got the full joke.

The new loony toons show is really goofy. It gets a few chuckles out of me but the characters only look and sound like their original selves. Their personalities are way different.

They should have kept the new duck dodgers on  that was a mans show.

That Government mandate to have a educational component to T.V shows had something to do with it

But in this era
Star Wars Avatar & young Justice even the new Thundercats have that same factor

But on the real very few cartoons are educational or slip in some Knowledge

these days Sarcasm & Comedy rule

This.

And for the Inspector Gadgets fans.

At first I had a problem with some of the shows on tv right now but some of them are actually pretty cool. Outside of Sprout and Nick Jr, Adventure Time and The Adventures of Gumball are pretty good. And Marceline is my favorite...not that I'd let my children watch them though...

But Word Girl - love it.
And I keep telling people that Yo Gabba Gabba! got some of the best songs ever on there. Mad entertaining but also educational.

My real beef is the live action shows. Nickelodeon got this one show with this black guy on it and they be putting him in some of the weirdest things...
