Carmelo Anthony reportedly hopes to be traded to either the Knicks or Bulls, and his representatives are "ramping up the pressure on the Nuggets" to make a deal before training camp begins.

The Nuggets aren't about to rush into anything, however, and many observers feel the Nets have the best assets to pull off a deal. The Rockets are also making a push for Melo and we assume most teams have at least made some inquiries.

Knicks don't have ammo for Melo

The Nuggets have told the Knicks that they don't have the assets they are seeking to trade Carmelo Anthony.

The Knicks traded away their first-round pick in 2012 to help clear space for LeBron, so by rule they can't give up their first-rounder in 2011 or 2013. That's going to make it nearly impossible for the two sides to work out a deal. The Knicks' only chance of landing Melo is if he plays this season out and then becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer. The Nets still look like the destination that makes the most sense for all parties involved.
