:dance::dance::dance: Pistons better start making some calls Now. Most people are saying he might end up in Miami but they have beasley who plays exactly like Boozer, he just needs a couple of years under his belt. Reports say Jazz might Trade him instead of waiting for him to opt out. Dumars please Give them Rasheed wallace and Kwame Brown.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- It is time to stop guessing whether Carlos Boozer will opt out of the final season of his contract with the Utah Jazz.

For the first time, Boozer said unequivocally Wednesday night that he will indeed opt out of his contract at the end of the season, forgoing a guaranteed $12.66 million to become an unrestricted free agent.

"I'm opting out. No matter what, I'm going to get a raise regardless," Boozer told ESPN.com. "I am going to opt out, I don't see why I wouldn't, I think it's a very good business decision for me and my family, but I'd also like to see what happens with the Jazz and stay here."
Boozer's statement can only come as welcome news to teammate Paul Millsap, who posted his 13th consecutive double-double in place of Boozer on Wednesday night as Utah came back from an early 22-point deficit to defeat the New Jersey Nets 103-92.

Millsap was the catalyst in a huge fourth-quarter surge for the Jazz as they outscored the Nets 40-23 in the period, with Millsap contributing half of his 18 points and half of his 12 rebounds over the final 12 minutes.

With Boozer sidelined the past 15 games by a knee injury (he sounded as though he had a setback Wednesday, experiencing pain after a workout, and planned to have an MRI Thursday) Millsap has unquestionably established himself as the NBA player providing the most bang for the buck.

Dumars please Give them Rasheed wallace and Kwame Brown.

that would be a mistake.

i actually like carlos boozer's game, but he is too small for his position, and plays that way.

just as yao ming is too slow, carlos boozer is too small.

I know what you are saying but Carlos Boozer will Bring his "A" game every night compared to Rasheed and Kwame Brown. Also we need someone that Can rebound and still Score . Carlos boozer is that Guy. With Rodney stuckey in the Mixx , I call it right now, the pistons will be headed to the Finals.

I agree....Kwame can go even though he is playing probably the best ball of his career....But as much as people like to dog Sheed he is still a formidable player on both ends of the floor....and has a high B ball IQ......
I like Boozer and would love to see him in a Pistons uniform...
Maybe one or 2 "good" players and some Jack....ain't that what the trade was about??(salary space)
I would hate to see them give somebody like Maxiel or Amir Johnson......Heaven knows we been traumatized enough losing Chauncey....Carlos would most def make The Pistons stronger.....might even push em over the edge....but not at the expense of giving up some KEY players....BTW there is also a injury question with him ....His Quadricep ....outside of the aforementioned factors Go get him Joe D.

Sheed can still rebound and score...and got a Higher B Ball IQ....and as pointed out is a TRUE Big....to get rid of him would be a mistake...unless for someone who has his same attributes...btw Stuckey is a Beast no doubt....But he got a couple years before he can really run the point...that's why Tayshun and Sheed are still important

the problem i have with sheed is he does not do what you mentioned on every game, especially the big games in the playoffs. Last year after they won game 1 in boston in the eastern conference finals, i was expecting sheed to step up against garnet but he was no where to be found. Mcdyess made the big plays when we needed them. Rasheed after winning the ring he's production has gone down hill, it's like he plays big whenever he feels like it :smh::smh::smh: .. sheed is a good player but it's time they traded him or cut him loose..

I understand what you are saying..and have gotten into more than a few argumrnts here in Detroit about Sheed.....But when you talk about Sheeds "antics" it was more a feeling of his disgust with what he felt was the unfair actions of the Zebras than his lack of desire to ball....and he has voiced that on several occassions...The ECF both with Cleveland and Boston he walked of the court saying he was "tired of this shit"......Now while it is some peoples pov to just play thru the shit ....when they do the shit as blatantly as they have the last couple of years it has got to be hard to just play thru the shit....
The key imo is for the Pistons to play the kind of ball where the officiating or lack thereof is negated....The Pistons have done that on occassion....But I for one respect him for saying out loud what most of the other olayers were going thru and what the true fans of B Ball(Piston fans or not could see)....Get The team on that kind of roll and Sheed will ball like he is capable of

Fuck Boozer. I used to like him, but he is essentialy the Larry Brown of players. He bounces whenever he wants to. If you were a team owner/GM you have to expect him to leave at the end of his contract no matter what.

If he would have stayed in Cleveland his endoresment money would be huge comapred to what it is now. The Cavs would be even more marketable, due to the fact that they would be better.

Endorsment money offsets contracts for many STARS. Jordan was never the highest paid until he came off of retirement. Why do you think that is? Boozer is small minded.

At one point I heard The Pistons had Boozer and Chris Bosh high on their list.......

But Boozer is injury prone.....which drops his value....I thibk The Pistons are interested....but they ain't going to sell the store to get him....He would probably 1st want to be a Piston and second be willingly to sacrifice to get with Detroit.....I think Bosh at this time is a much more desirable candidate...Shit if Carlos can bite the bullet They might be able to grab both of em........

Sounds like a DAMN good idea to me. However, Joe D might be after bigger fish, and having Wallace's contract come off the books after this season holds a STRONG appeal for Joe D!:smh:

Rather than trading bodies--straight-up--Joe would much rather get a player in his last contract year as opposed to trading for a prospective 'free agent'....who may flee the cope for more $$$, elsewhere.

Plus, the Jazz aren't really a good fit for Rasheed Wallace, not to mention Kwame Brown. Out there, you don't take 'nights' off, without incurring the wrath of the Jazz head coach (he's strickly 'Old school')!

I have seen you say boozer is too small before....what do you mean

He still puts up 20 and 10 and I will take his "small" ass on the Mavericks anyday

Yeah I don't like that about him but I do like his game...like you said when you bring him to your team just be ready for him to bounce first chance he gets...that is why it would be dumb for a team to trade for him now...he could get traded for, opt out, and leave the team with nothing at the end of the season.

i already said that i like his game too. so i would put him on a squad. but i wouldn't give that much up to get him. see the difference?

and what i mean by "too small" for his position is this. watch him closely when he plays against longer players. they don't have to be necessarily stronger, just longer. against longer players, carlos boozer gets noticeably uncomfortable, alters his shots, and lets their length distract him.

you may be thinking "of course he does. who wouldn't?". but the problem is that players at his position need to power through or at least challenge the longer players. carlos boozer 100% of the time will take himself out of a play instead of engage.

He's no Charles Barkley... players don't come like Barkley these days.

That said, Boozer needs to get healthy before talking.

Him and Beasley are supposed to be the Barkley's of this Era. I don't think He would go to Miami since of beasley. But detroit need someone of his calibre. Someone that gives you a Solid 20 and 10 every night , but if he's gonna Bounce after the contract, i think we might be better off waiting to get someone else. But he could fit in Detroit very well..

A scary thought a 'healthy' Boozer on the Magic. Howard, Lewis, and Boozer would own. Not an Orlando though.....go Bulls:happymad::confused:

At least them niggas are 6'7...Barkley is like 6'4

Barkley>>>>>>>>

I used to mold my game after Barkley but I couldn't even get that tall...im 5'11 but ill post a nigga up and dunk on his ass!

I love Carlos but Pistons need Rasheed for his outside shooting, when he is on other centers can even compete cause they never go out to guard him.

Re: Carlos Boozer

No I missed it

Dude had a monster game though(from the little that I watched and seeing that he grabbed all those boards)

fantastic first half and good Q4.

if you get to see Q3, you'll see a glimpse of what i was talking about.

Re: Carlos Boozer

 i didnt watch the game but im guessing he's getting a lesson in not being a 7fter

Q3, you can see he started to struggle. don't ask carlos boozer to do too much, and you have a great asset. similar to an ac green. but ask him for a little more, like pass out of the post, and you're asking for trouble.

put him on either side of the ball against a longer opponent, and it's almost like he alters his game.
