In "nice" neighborhoods people leave their cars running all the time while they use ATMs go into the convenient store.

Alright question for y'all with nice, keyless cars. The car I just bought (basic model, nothing special) can be started without the key near it, but is not supposed to be drivable without the key fob, in the driver's possession. With that being said, can a keyless car still be stolen if the FOB is nowhere near it?

I am asking since the article said that some of the cars were stolen without the key in it.

Before you laugh at Luda, I have a similar Mercedes and made the same mistake once. The car has auto start stop so the engine cuts off when you’re not moving, It also has a key fob, so it’s not like you turn the key to turn it off. Also, the dash is confusing. When you turn the car off, the dash stays on, until you open the car door. - then it shuts off. One time I thought I turned it off, to run into the cleaners, and realized I left it running

He was dumb for doing so. But I can see how it happened
