A Lucky River Restaurant employee was caught slamming frozen beef on the sidewalk outside the Sunnyside Chinese food joint. The worker has since been fired and the meat was destroyed, the restaurant's owner said.

A San Francisco cook has a rare technique for defrosting meat--slamming it on the sidewalk.
Cellphone video captured a Lucky River Restaurant employee pounding frozen beef on the pavement Nov. 21, forcing a health inspection.
"Maybe it's what makes their Mongolian beef taste so good," the video's poster wrote in the description on Live Leak.
The owner of the Chinese restaurant at 700 Monterey Boulevard told KPIX that the video showed an isolated incident. The cook was fired.
"The beef was destroyed, and we did not serve it," the manager told SF Weekly.
The restaurant scored an 88 percent on the last surprise health inspection in July.
The sidewalk outside Lucky River was littered with cigarette butts, dirt and ants a week after the video was taken.
The video garnered more than 87,000 views as of Tuesday evening.
