ESPN, despite it's racist origins is entirely centered around black culture

Not entirely… I don’t watch much anymore but Baseball Tonight was not black culture when I was watching. The NBA is all I watch but no way that’s true of their NFL, MLB, NHL, tennis and golf coverage. And they’re adding WWE— that is not black culture!

To the extent that it is, how much of that basically starts with Stuart Scott?

How are the origins of ESPN racist? I didn’t understand that part at all.

I never heard of these two Cacs before but to answer to OP's question.... No!

At least I don't think I'd be able to call an old white man 'Unc' unless the word was dripping in sarcasm. Kinda like saying, "whatever you say,  boss  "

Aaron Rodgers is one of the most famous football players ever, he was in the running to take over Jeopardy!

This makes sense… I think the question is more whether it makes sense for white people to be using those labels, in either direction.

To me, it’s interesting to see how the internet speeds up this type of co-opting.

not surprised they took everything else ....:hmm:

maybe the dude that do their socials black ...

Unc and Auntie are racist terms white people used not to have to give black men and women their due respect. There is a reason that products were called Uncle Ben's or Aunt Jemima.

It disturbs me when I hear people using these terms the way that they do referring to people that they do not even know without understanding their origin.

This is a good point also, but it also evolved at some point. When I was a kid it was usually used respectfully. Like for example one of my Mom's best friends prefers me to call her Aunt Joyce. She still does to this day.

That is understandable. Y'all have a relation. Hearing people call strangers Unc and Auntie makes my skin crawl.

Nah its cause we raised their kids.

Not real black culture. We did not start getting accepted into satan's world or a white created reality until they started doing away with the breast and came up with these synthetic milk like similac and so on.

To quote the Prophet Paul Mooney: “White folks take everything. They don’t want a nigga to have nothing.”

Damn, bruh are you that disconnected from sports?

I'm not making fun or anything but damn.
Not disconnected from sports, just the NFL. I stopped watching football regularly after the Eagles lost to the Pats in the superbowl. The only game I've watched in full since then was when the birds beats the Pats.

I didn't even watch their most recent Superbowl win. As a kid I thought, I'd never see it happen. Now that I've actually seen it, I don't feel a need to watch anymore :dunno:

I also didn't realize one of those white boys was Aaron Rogers. I can't believe he's still playing.
He gotta be like 40 something by now.
