Knicks legend Patrick Ewing acknowledged last night that disintegrating Eddy Curry may not have the mental makeup to succeed in New York.

Ewing, the Orlando assistant, understands more than anyone what it takes to prosper at the Garden. The "Big Fella" received more boos and catcalls than any Knick.

"I don't know if he came into camp in shape or not," the likely Hall of Famer told The Post. "You have to have a strong mind to play in New York. Not too many people can play there." --

c/s....I don't think he has it either. He needs a person like Pat Ewing who is gonna stay on his ass and make him tougher mentaly. Then again maybe once Isiah Thomas decides to step aside and the right type of coach take over, then he may have the urge to play harder cause he's lazy. Another option: Trade him.

Curry lacks confidence and is not a good fit for the Knicks system. He and Zach Randolph set up on the same side of the floor. Isiah did the smart thing by bot starting them together, but I would have started Randolph over Curry.

I feel sorry for Thomas but like Riley, he made his bed with poor personnel moves, so he has to lie in it.

I guess you saw the NY/Portland game tonight. That's what I've been saying for the longest. Tonight, there was no Richardson, no Curry, no Steph (infection), no moping and no sulking. Well, Nate did a little, but only because Blake was waxing his ass on both ends of the court and Isiah pulled him.

Knicks played a very good Portland team with vim and vigor. Pushed them to overtime. If we had ONE more scorer (an unselfish type), there would've been a victory.

Curry might've made a difference on offense tonight. But he has GOT to grow up. You don't get the ball be a MAN and go get that shit off the glass

It's been horrible watching my Knicks go down game after game after game. Then they'll have a small spark, to follow up with a lackluster efforts, WTF! I'm tired of Nate being too small to guard anyone, although he's got plenty of heart. In that Portland game I watched Zack Randolph allow someone to dunk it on him while that man dribbled right down the baseline. FOUL HIM!!!!! Easy layups, no help defense, slow ass rotation unless Nate's on the floor, and horrible, horrible shot selections!!!! It almost looks as if they don't practice on set plays. tragic!

..and THIS is what kills me about the Knicks organization.Look at the job Patrick Ewing has done working with Yao Ming and now Dwight Howard. Would it be the smart thing to do to bring him in as a coach. (especially from a P.R. standpoint.)

Personally, I don't mind Q, but he is too undersized for the 3. Q, Marbury James (I didn't forget about your punk ass) Need to get the fuck out of NY and bring in a veteran PG.
