Okafor isn't a bum
He's just not Dwight Howard
c/s no slouch by any means. He was held back by injuries, and played on a mediocre team. He's a great role player.
David West has a excellent mid range game, and would do that with any team.
Tyson Chandler would be a better example.

Yep & at least Okafor is consistent. He'll give you double digit rebounds pts & blocks every game. He just lacked a PG that could get him the ball in scoring position on the low block til now. Tyson Chandler probably at home jealous than a muhfucka

Don't mean shit if he doesn't have a good PG. Last season his numbers dropped dramatically when Paul got injured til Collison became comfortable as a starter. West is an overrated excuse for a PF who can't even grab more than 6 rebounds a game. Reminds me of Rashard Lewis without the range.

You don't need a great PG for a mid range game. He's not catching alleys near the rim on the receiving end of pick and rolls. Plus he's an undersized PF, I think he's more like 6'7. He's never been a banger, but he isn't as bad as Lewis, because he does go to the rim.
He was getting more defensive attention, but he still shot 50%

Thats not true he is athletic for his size, has good hands, and a good rebounder
Watch some of those alley oops he used to catch from Paul many big men dont have the hands or athleticism to catch them he was throwing them down one or two hands

Damn Okafor a bum now? He's a solid guy that you need for a championship run. He's not a star but at the 4 spot you really don't need one.
Okafor ain't no bum. He's a former Rookie Of The Year that has a career average of a double-double. Most teams salivate over a big man like that.
As a midrange shooter you don't need a great PG but him as a player needed one. He was supposed to be the team's 2nd go to player but proved he can't create his own shot and that he needs a good PG to get him the ball & opening. He will go to the rim but is more inclined to stay around the perimeter. If you're going to stay around the perimeter but can't create your own shots then your numbers will drop as West's did. He was averaging about 20ppg with Paul in the lineup. Hell the mavs are getting easy points because kidd can just throw it up and TC will come down with a dunk, plus he's a decent defender too
