Tradelines are just another word for Authorized User which is someone being added to someone's credit card account. What this does is issue another credit card under your account to a person who will have access to your credit line. The account holder is ultimately responsible for the debt incured by the authorized user.

Now lets get down to the real shit....

People are using tradelines to add to their credit profile to boost their credit age and score because once the authroized user account hits their credit report it adds the original details of the original account to theirs, if that makes any sense.
