Good post but nothing in Philly though.
Sometimes theres Philly stuff when theres something going on. Like I said, I will keep posting the new one every week. It will come up. I know one spot in Philly that has alot of great hiphop stuff. Its called Grape Street in Manayunk. KRS plays there alot and the Roots.
http://www.grapestreet.com

Philadelphia was know in the 80's as being the breeding ground and the leader in the development of the modern day Hip Hop DJ. The pioneers, Dj Jazzy Jeff and Dj Cash Money, helped set the wave for the future of the Philly hip hop Dj. Going into 2004 the Skratch Makaniks Crew will carry on the tradition as those before them did. Grape Street Philadelphia is proud to have the Skratch Makaniks control the wheels in the new venue. The SM's are know from rocking parties, DJ Battles, Mix CD's and producing furious beats for the top hip hop MC's.
The Skratch Makhaniks Crew which includes: Excel, Jayski, Sat One, Kwestion, Adam Bomb, Aktive, and Rab will be spinning 7 days a week. The new Dj booth in this room will feature, 4 turntables, 2 mixers and 2 CD pads providing opportunities for multiple Dj's to spin and mix their music.

Appreciate the look on this one. Nothin near home but I wouldnt mind traveling to peep some of these

"At the epicenter of this great renaissance were the jams. Block parties became our pow-wows. These cultural gatherings served as place to exhibit our skills, engage in artistic warfare and network...it was a celebration of life through art. These all-age events were free and accessible to the community. They provided an alternative to the negative activities that plagued our neighborhoods. Outdoor jams and community events provided a platform for the unification of various art forms. DJs, MCs, dancers and writers became identified as components of a common movement, eventually labeled Hip Hop."

QUOTE OF THE YEAR!
"To confuse commercial rap made by a few artists with how hip-hop is actually lived by millions is to miss the good that hip-hop does. If hip-hop's critics paid attention to the hip-hop generation, they would learn that the discussion has already begun without them and that they might need to listen. Then a real intergenerational conversation could begin."

HusH Tours

New York City is known to the world as "The Birthplace of Hip Hop." Signs of it's rich cultural and musical heritage resonate throughout the boroughs. While many of NYC's most popular tourist attractions have connection to history, many of Hip Hop's key locations remain unmarked and largely unvisited. HusH Tours and its celebrity narrators aim to change that! New York, NY — Hip Hop is a style of music that transcends across many cultures around the world. WyClef Jean, Grammy award winner and member of the international group, The Fugees, recently launched Sak Pasé Music.

SUNDAY MAY 20th
S.O.B.'s Urban Concerts Present:
KRS-ONE & MARLEY MARL @ IRVING PLAZA
Doors: 8pm
Admission: $20 In Advance

The Beef is over! The Beef is over!
More than 20 years after Boogie Down Productions and MC Shan & Marley Marl traded dis records in what was the first higly publicized rap beef of many to come, KRS and Marley will come together on stage at Irving Plaza. No longer beefin about the origin of Hip Hop from their now infamous “The Bridge “ and “The Bridge is Over” musical debate, Krs-One and Marley Marl are set to make history with their upcoming release Hip Hop Lives.

In support of their brand new release, this somewhat surprising MC/DJ duo are set to blaze a path of Hip Hop unity in response to current attacks on lyrical content from the media and claims that the genre is dead from their peers. Out to prove that Hip Hop is indeed alive and well, Krs-One and Marley Marl are embarking on a three city tour, New York, D.C. and Philadelphia to spread the word. It ain’t so much about where the music came from, its about where its going.

To quote the great Rakim, "It ain't where you from, it's where you at!" Join the movement and show you believe that Hip Hop Lives with Krs-One and Marley Marl Sunday May 20 at The Fillmore New York (At Irving Plaza).

ABOUT TOOLS OF WAR

Co-founded by Jorge "Pop Master Fabel" Pabon and Christie Z-Pabon, Tools of War was named with the idea that there are many "tools" one can use in competing/battling within Hip Hop culture: turntables, microphones, paint, one's body, and especially one's voice (and so on)! Although the name might appear aggressive, the intent behind it's use is actually to inform and educate people regarding not only Hip Hop but many other social and political issues. As we grow, we are finding that it has also become a forum for voicing opinions and sharing ideas which might help in unifying and uplifting people all over the world. Please visit us at myspace.com/Toolsofwar

Punch, in partnership with Birmingham Repertory Theatre and BBoy’s Attic welcome you to the BBoys for Life Conference! An unmissable opportunity to witness the global legends of the BBoy/BGirl world discuss their art form, pass on skills and perform new material.
BBoys & BGirls have in recent years, established themselves as a prominent force in contemporary culture and lifestyle. Arbiters of taste, superstars of the club scene and global icons for a generation of Hip Hop fans, their influence is huge.
