This is where the new war will begin and end when it comes to elections. Winning the presidency via the popular vote is history. Its only gonna be about getting them electoral votes! MOFO's gonna focus and WIN on the electoral college. Repubs are going to dominate in this area and keep winning? Why? Because the understand how it works and will focus on getting their local people statewide on it so when it comes to election, they will have it sewn up. Every election they study & analyze which states electoral college laws are, focus their true efforts on getting their people on the key committee to ensure they will get to vote in the electoral college and wait until the election and count those reliable votes while the general public is focus on personality & other non essential candidates. I'm calling this years in advance, REPUBLICANS WILL CONTINUE TO DOMINATE THE PRESIDENCY BASED ON ELECTORAL VOTES ALONE!
that's not how it works, but I respect your points and concerns, pop vote or electorial does not matter, this two party system is flawed, shit won't truly change until we get a 3rd or 4th party of independents and progressives, other wise every 4-8 years, it's either the Dems or GOP, and the Dems build up the economy and protections of law, and the GOP comes in and destroys it.
Republicans will win only if two things happen, (1) people of color won't get off their collective ass and vote in overwhelming numbers and (2) if the GOP actually nominates a non-traditional liberal leaning candidate. The first is a definite, the second is a possibility, albeit not likely.
The have been only five Presidential Elections decided by the Electoral College and only two in modern times, George W. Bush and Trump, and neither would have won if way too people who lean Democratic hadn't sat on their hands instead of casting a ballot.
