Cacs pissed that brother played the system!!

This shit is like nine years old.... things didn't work out for him... next time maybe he should get a job and buy a house the old fashioned way.... getting a mortgage

Texas Squatter With $16 McMansion Kicked Out After 8 Months
Feb. 6, 2012— -- Kenneth Robinson has finally been kicked out of the $340,000 home that he had lived in since June for $16.

Robinson, 51, lived on Waterford Drive in Flower Mound, Texas, but he did not own or rent the home he claimed he had a right to live in. After the owner abandoned the property, which had been in foreclosure for over a year, and the mortgage company reportedly went out of business, he submitted a $16 filing fee at the local courthouse, claiming the law of "adverse possession" gave him the right to occupy the home.

However, a judge in Denton County ruled Monday that the current lienholder, Bank of America, can force Robinson out.

Robinson had became a local celebrity of sorts, writing an eBook and creating a website, http://16dollarhouse.com, about the home in which he lived for about eight months. On his site, he states, "I am successful because I can see it no other way."

After the judge's decision, he told the Associated Press that he had moved out, ending what he called a "huge learning experience." Prosecutors are cracking down on others hoping to emulate Robinson.

Adverse possession is a common law concept developed in the 1800s. According to Lucas A. Ferrara, a partner in Newman Ferrara, a New York City real estate law firm, adverse possession was enacted to ensure that property wasn't abandoned and was "maintained and monitored." It requires the posting of a clear, public notice that someone is at the property -- hence the court filing -- and that someone would remain there for a specific period of time, usually 10 years.

After the time requirement is satisfied, the Robinsons of the world have the opportunity to claim clear title to the property. In the meantime, the original property owner could fight the action, but it would be costly. And since the house has already been abandoned, it's not likely the original owner would wage an expensive legal battle to get it back. The mortgage holder would have to fight a court action too.

I give him big credit for what he did.

There are a shit load of laws on the books that the average American has no clue about.

This makes me motivated to start looking into local laws here in Nevada.

I bet money the Texas legislature has amended that law since then. Similar to how the Govt started amending the gun laws after the Black Panthers were running around declaring their 2nd Amendment Rights.

Man, I woulda been rubbing that shit in their faces like, "Hey there Steve. Looks like you had a tough day in the office. Me? I've just been here all day doing renovations since I don't have a mortgage syphoning off all my income. BTW, I plan to cut the yard next month, so don't worry."

Note: that yard was all the way fucked up. Homie coulda at least kept the shit up whilst squatting.

:roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

Shiiieeetttt.... I'm not giving him or anyone else that does that shit props.

They aren't going to keep up the property properly and will kill property values.

I'm with the neighbors. Buy that shit like everyone else. Fuck his silly ass sitting in a 300K house w/ no power or running water and a lawn chair in the living room.

How is that cool?!!!

Yeah, so people supposed to be cool with their property values going to shit? Cool with squatters trying to get into every empty home so they can pull this shit? Are black people supposed to be cool with their neighborhoods getting fucked over or they will be considered haters? FOH

And it didn't work out for this guy anyway. Maybe he made some money from the ebook and speaking.

I’m more amazed at what kinda home you can get for $300k in Texas.

That house is probably close to a million in the DMV. :smh:
Man... Deion Sanders built his home for 2 million in Texas That damn house would go for 15 mill. in Cali.

You sound like a hater. A cac one at that.

He should have immediately sold the home for $160,000 (the very day he got the deed), instead of actually trying to live in it, that would have been the real impressive move instead of trying to live in it, who wants to live in a home where all the neighbors hate you and will do anything to get you out, basically a homeless squatter!

He couldn't sell the home. He had to wait years before the house would actually be his.

He better have all kinds of insurance on his property. But he also needs to move someone in to live inside. They needs help.

Yes. I'm willing to lose everything I've ever worked for just to antagonize random, nobody CACs.

You're not? You must be white.

EVERY-TIME an African American, Caribbean, Indigenous person finds a loop-hole in the system...
WHITE PPL ALWAYS gets super-furious and want to find vengeance for US being a step-ahead of them in the game.
We've been doing this shit for years AND STILL!

The downfall to us is that when we manipulate these loop-holes WE THEN want to broadcast it to the wrong ppl (hate has no color).
Do your shit in silence... THEN educate the masse(s) after attaining your worth.

You are making a fucked up assumption that it's only white people that live in that neighborhood.

So you want honest hard working Black people that sacrificed all their lives to afford a home like that and now the property value will plummet 'cause you have this lazy entitled piece of shit just claiming a 300K+ home in the neighborhood without paying for it?!!!! C'mon cashwhisperer, how UNCOOL is that?!

One more thing. This dickhead was not paying insurance on that home. So on a cold night when this guy doesn't have heat and starts a fire or some shit in the living room to keep warm and burns the house to the ground creating an eyesore for the area and just walks away from it with no responsibility. What kind of sense does that make?

This is nonsense. They don't own these homes. They have no way to get utilities, pay taxes or insurance, nothing!!!

This shit is basically squatting until they get kicked out.

I get loopholes, but this one is one of the dumbest and only creates false hope.

Looks like dude dug into the real life Monopoly rules and found the old auction clause. (Side note: I'm still amazed how no one ever plays with the auction rule in Monopoly, even though it would make the game go faster.)

I'm not going to say that I'm proud of the dude or happy with what he did, and I'm definitely not saying that I'd want to "live" next to him. But he does get props for gaming the system, and it forced them to close a couple of loopholes along the way.

But it's funny. If he had a little bit of money in pocket and had just been able to put on a facade, he might've got everyone to buy into it.
