I generalized my statement in the name of brevity, but if he had the ladder at a 45 degree angle then backed the truck up so the bumper was a few inches apart if not touching it.......

The ladder is still on the ground and it has a solid object keeping it from moving backwards.....

Now the whole side-to-side situation is a risk he has to take, but given the results of this video, moving to one side was not the problem.

However, the basics of ladder safety say have a person hold the ladder.....

But when I was installing for AT&T that shit wasn't possible, so mfkrs had to get creative.

I saw the Spectrum guy put a ladder on top of his van to reach the line on the telephone pole.
