That all depends on the working environment and personalities. These days if a person over hears what they deem as an offensive comment (i.e. "Maaaan, I would slap my dick all over Megan the Stallion's pretty bitch face!!") in the workplace, even if said comment was not directed at them, it can get reported to HR, upper management, Director, etc.
