Bonjour, my friends. GP is here in Burundi.

I got lucky. The hotel I'm at has wi-fi internet. So you'll hear from me as you do on the regular.

Bujumbura is on the northeastern tip of Lake Tanganika. I took a couple of pic before I went to the embassy today. Will post them later.

It is currently 7:30pm local time; 1:30pm in DC. Not much to watch on TV except CNN International, BBC World, and several French speaking channels.

That's all for now, will talk to y'all later.

Ca va, GYH. As I type this, it is 2:10am here. Just woke up, but not by choice, mind you. Can't get back to sleep.

French is the major language spoken here, but I only know a few words and phrases, so don't ask to get too in depth.

I have to watch where I go in the city. Parts of it are off limits, but the downtown area is okay during the day. After 6pm, though, the knuckleheads come out.

Most of the people here are friendly. At lunchtime today (cause it's still Monday in the U.S.) I and my co-worker went with our embassy contact to a nice restaurant and had some thin crust pizza. Not Domino's or Pizza-Hut, but it was pretty good.

CT, I'm watch my ass over here, lol. Seriously though, as long as I stay in the city, I'm fine. It's outside the city that's dangerous, but I don't have any reason to go out there.

That's all for now. Ladies, I want to see more of y'all sexy selves, okay? :) And I'll try to get more photos here for y'all.

Later, y'all.

Good morning, everyone. (6:30am here in Burundi)

Getting ready to head to the embassy. Roosters are crowing outside my window right now. (I'm a city boy, ok?)

Today is a local holiday. But I still gotta go in and get this network up for the office I'm working in.

When I get back, I'll try to upload some of the pics I took this morning. But the wi-fi is slow, so I may just wait till I return to Maryland.

MCP, It's not too bad. South of the equator, so it is warming up down here.

Ok, gotta go. Talk to y'all later.

JJustAzz: That is an interesting sig you have. Got me wondering what you look like.

I'll try to get some more. But we're trying to wrap things up at the embassy, so I may not get a chance.

On another note, check out my path back to the US.

Bujumbura to Kigali, Rwanda.

Rwanda to Addis Ababba, Ethiopia

Ethiopia to Paris

Paris to DC

Unless that changes, I'll get back home Sunday.

I'm keeping the warrior for myself. The carving of the country of Burundi is going to an aunt of mine. The remaining one will be going to a friend.
