Hey guys Im helping someone build a basic website but Im not sure how much to charge since this is my 1st one. I would like to know if any of you have experience building and maintaining a basic website (nothing big at all) on a monthly or annually rate..any help will be helpful, thanks in advance

i dont have experience in charging and all that but a few things you might want to provide in addition:
how many pages
what kinda site
what are the actual maintanence being done regularly? what has to be updated?
are you building the page from scratch with your own scripting or are you modifying a template that already exists?

those are real good questions. lets say it was for a band. 5 basic pages of info and a calender that gets updated once a week. thats something basic and you wouldnt charge that much a month....20-30 dollars? now if they are calling you everyday with updates to the page then the price goes up.
I would also think about how many times can they contact you for updates and put some sort of limit on it if necessary.
