Bryant Gumbel because of the way he speaks has all to often been categorized as some kind of oreo or "tom". The following clip is indicative of positions he's taken in the past regarding issues that affect blacks and other people of color
Brothers ought to judge Bryant on what he says rather than how he says it.

Ive always wondered why dude gets a bad rap amongst black folks.

ive never heard him say anything negative that had led me to believe he is some coon etc..

i think he is just a straight up pro at his job.

side note..there is sure to be some issues regarding his comments in the next few days.

Most of these clowns crying coon have no clue as to what a coon is aside from Clarence Thomas. IMO Bryant Gumbel is nobody's coon. As soon as a statement is made they disagree with "he's a coon."

As for those rebutting Gumbel's statements who cares. Gumbel's assessment of Stern is on point. But Gumbel didn't go far enough. Because Gumbel didn't speak on the owners. A lockout is an act of collusion which obviously has Stern's approval. The treachery of Stern and the owners is unmistakable.

So when terms like slaves and hired hands are used that's exactly how these players are thought of by Stern and the owners. It don't matter what the players think or are making because if there is to be a season its not their decision when they get to play or if they get to play. Stern and the owners will make that decision.

People have been saying this about the league for the longest I honestly don't see why Gumbels comment is so surprising. I thought we covered this in 40 million dollar slaves by William C.Rhoden. I guess it's just the white people who are really up in arms about it because black people talk about this all the time.

And Co-sign Mo-Better

Black dude was in Bayless ass. The white bitch showed her colors too but dude let those 400 years come out lmao, do that son!

Gumble didn't compare the players to slaves, he compared Stern to an overseer... and Stern carries himself as such. What's the problem? :dunno:
