The inaugural Jamaica Rising Day Parade is taking over Brooklyn on Saturday, August 8, bringing Jamaican music, food, culture and pure island energy to the streets!

Gathering time: 9 AM

Starting point: Flatbush Avenue and Church Avenue, also known as Bob Marley Boulevard

Route: The parade will head north along Flatbush Avenue before concluding at Dr. Ronald McNair Park, located on Classon Avenue between President Street and Eastern Parkway

Street Festival and Block Party: 3 PM to 6 PM at Classon Avenue and Eastern Parkway

Admission: Free and open to the public

The celebration will feature live DJs, traditional Jamaican food, cultural groups, community organizations and three signature floats representing Jamaica’s historic counties:

The theme is “Jamaica Rising: One People. One Legacy. One Future.” The historic event will celebrate Jamaican pride while building momentum toward the country’s 65th anniversary of independence in 2027.
