Broncos CB Aqib Talib suffers gunshot wound to right leg

Why can't these mofos sit their asses down somewhere...SMH.

Denver Broncos
cornerback Aqib Talib suffered a gunshot wound to his lower right leg and was being treated at a Dallas hospital Sunday.

A team source told ESPN's Ed Werder that Talib did not require surgery, and the Broncos do not believe he suffered any serious injuries that would significantly impede his ability to participate in offseason preparations for a Denver team seeking to defend its Super Bowl championship. The Broncos have a mandatory minicamp beginning Tuesday.

Denver executive vice president John Elway and head coach Gary Kubiak have both spoken to Talib, the source said.

According to the Broncos, Talib is expected to be released from Medical City Hospital on Monday, but he won't be able to join the team for its scheduled trip to Washington, D.C., where it is being honored at the White House for its Super Bowl 50 win.

The Broncos said in a statement that they have been in touch with the NFL and "will provide additional updates as appropriate."

According to multiple reports, Talib, 30, was injured at a nightclub early Sunday morning in Dallas, where he has an offseason home. WFAA-TV first reported the news.

In 2009, Talib was arrested and charged with simple battery and resisting arrest for assaulting a cab driver. The NFL suspended him for the first game of the 2010 season, and he was entered into a pretrial diversion program and ordered to attend anger-management classes. He reached an undisclosed financial settlement with the driver.

Talib was indicted on an aggravated assault charge for an incident near Dallas in 2011; he allegedly pistol-whipped his sister's boyfriend and fired shots at the man, but the charges were later dismissed for lack of evidence.

In 2014, the Broncos were initially informed Talib had been arrested in Dallas, but it was actually Talib's brother, Yaqub Talib, who had been arrested at that time. Dallas police released a correction on social media saying information that Aqib Talib had been arrested "was incorrect.''

In 2015, Talib and his brother were questioned at the scene of an aggravated assault at a Dallas nightclub. Talib was questioned by police and his car was towed and examined for evidence, but he was not charged in the incident.

Talib signed a six-year, $57 million deal with the Broncos in 2014.
