Speaking as a lifelong Chiefs fan, I feel a little sympathy for the Bears (but not much). Time to go ahead and put the '07 season on ice and try to grab "Chunky" McNabb in the offseason!
Seriously though, the front office messed up by letting Jones walk. Just because Benson was a first round pick, doesn't mean he had first round talent. The tackles on both sides are wearing down and Kreutz (sp?) is your only mauler upfront. They should have kept Tank. Archuleta is past his prime. Muhammad is a shell of his Carolina days and Berrian is strictly a deep threat.
If I'm the GM, I make a serious run for McNabb where he would be embraced immediately. Depending on how much the season bottoms out, I make a try for DT Dorsey from LSU. Make a play for RB Michael Turner from SD who will be an unrestricted free agent. Grab a sure handed possession receiver to move the chains. And while I'm at it, I look at retooling the O-line from the outside in over the course of the next couple of seasons. Give the key defensive pieces a year to heal. The Cover-2 doesn't require All-Pros to be successful.

You know Mr Smith is sitting back, saying "thats why im the muthafuckin coach, and yall just watch. I knew Griese wasnt shit" Orton is serviceable, Grossman gives them the best chance to win (even tho he sucks). but that whole offense sucks. Thats why i picked Detroit as my fantasy team defense, 1td, 3 int's, a fumble and 6 sacks.
