He would have been gone. The GOP wouldn't have hesitated to impeach Obama under the same circumstances, and dems would have caved and voted with them to avoid the appearance of evil/suppoting a corrupt politician.
The GOP has a better propaganda machine. They talk a good game about being for the church, law and order, a force for good, pro-America etc, but their actions are the opposite and dems never call them out on it. The dems also want a functioning government, for the most part they actually care about people and so normally take actions that move things forward. The only time they didn't cave when people were hurting was during the shutdown. They wanted to cave tho, but Pelosi played hardball and held everyone together. The GOP uses the decency of dems against them.
Any dem, and by extension the whole party, not voting to impeach Obama, had the same evidence been available, would also have that vote follow them for being anti democracy and making a mockery of the constitution, not upholding our values or being true to the office they hold. How much of that have you seen targeted toward the GOP who voted to keep Trump in office? How many people have you seen held accountable for their votes? Besides Romney etc, and they were being taken to task by the their own people. The Lincoln Project and Meidas are the only ones putting out any hard hitting ads, and that's all mostly former GOP who IMO can't be trusted long term. Dems suck at messaging and narratives.
Dems also would have let all evidence be heard and would have voted to subpoena anyone with information lest they be accused of covering up Obama's crimes or trying to protect him because he's the first black president. Had Obama survived impeachment we would have had black people are criminal dog whistles the rest of his term.
The GOP don't give a F. They will openly crime and then the next minute they will all be back in line and on point telling people they really didn't see what they saw, that the liberal Jewish run media is lying to them, why dems are really the bad guys and how they need to support the GOP or they will go to hell and their daughters will all be forced to get abortions after getting raped by a tranny in the women's restroom.
Dems think hard work will be rewarded, and don't brag enough about what they do. They expect results to speak for themselves. The GOP will say they did xyz to help you while having done the opposite. Dems expect their supporters to think and use logic, the GOP expects their supporters to feel and act based on the fearmongering and hate they inspire and manipulate them for that purpose.
It's hard for dems to follow that same playbook tho because so many of their supporters do use logic and rebel against those types of tactics. They need to do something tho to improve the messaging and soundbite slogans.
And this is why I have huge problems with the donkeys... mofos are straight pussy when it's time to get dirty.

I'd do damn near the same thing, if I was Nancy. I'd have damn near a daily accounting of the BS the GOP was tryna pull AND relate it to the average person's life...how that screwed you. I'd make sure EVERYDAY that their BS was shown.

Right now they are trying to get the GOP on board with infrastructure. Local residents know where the bad spots are. I'd be running ads in every GOP area/state listing all the bad streets, all the bridges with poor ratings, all the projects that could get done if their senator voted for the bill. I'd tell them to call or support dem candidate xyz who wants to make their lives better. When they didn't support it, I'd be back with ads telling reminding the voters, as well as ads for people who try to take credit for help they voted against.
Right now people are getting the child care tax credits. The GOP didn't want them, the dems want to make it permanent. This was for lower and middle class families. The GOP will target both the voters and the dems, saying the dems want people on the govt teat. People want to be anti welfare and govt programs and not see themselves as voting for handouts. Dems don't want to be seen as the party of welfare. So dems won't run on it, and people are being psyched out of thinking it's a good thing. I'm hoping since so many women are having a hard time getting back to work, and the GOP was so gung ho on cutting unemployment benefits, even tho child care businesses have closed and it's still not safe, that they support dems in larger numbers regardless. We don't have messaging on any of this tho.
