They are doing worse than what they did with breaking up the Walking Dead season. The difference is, people actually needed a break from that bullshit.

Is it? You want them to drag it on until eternity.

I've always believed that great drama series have a 3 year shelf-life.

Yeah but run the final season. Why break the show up with 8 episode seasons? It's already a very popular show, so I know AMC is bringing in bank with the advertisements! It's like a chick giving you a blowjob, then telling you to wait another couple of months before you can fuck her. It's not fair!!

This show, mad men, and boss is the only shit I look forward to watching. Everything else is hit or miss.

*two cents*

And what are they going to do for programming the following summer?

I hate to use the 90 day rule analogy here, but if it's good, you'll wait.

Vince Gilligan noted a year or two back that his wish with the series would be to get a good solid 5 years or so to tell the full story. There's always concern as a creator that a show will get cut short and cancelled, or that it will drag on way past its expiry date and jump the shark, as the saying goes. He was glad when AMC/Sony Pictures were able to green-light Breaking Bad for a solid 5, and as we've seen in recent years ... alot of networks tend to do these damn split seasons (to make it feel like a follow-up season). All it is in effect is just abbreviated. We've seen it with many a show like The Sopranos, Heroes, Two And A Half Men, etc.

Sometimes they do it to stretch a season out and bring it into sweeps week (in May) for the larger potential ratings ... as many series start back in September of the previous year ... and in other cases it's just to make it feel like "2 seasons" when in effect it's just 1 long one. Breaking Bad had 7 episodes its first season due to the WRITERS' STRIKE ... and then 13 episodes for seasons 2, 3, and 4 respectively.

Bryan Cranston noted on one of the podcasts I listen to that a full season takes about 6 months to film/edit/etc. So it shows the amount of work they put into it. 13 episodes spread out over 6 months, and the timeline was much smaller back in the 90s when Vince Gilligan noted he worked on THE X-FILES and they'd often have just over a week to pump an episode out.

That said ... make sure ya'll get on ITUNES as there are some very good podcasts on there for the series. My fave ones =

- BREAKING GOOD

- BREAKING BAD INSIDER PODCAST

I set my Ipod to X2 speed as some of the episodes are long, that way I can get through them quicker. The BREAKING GOOD guys are legit fans and give you lots of interesting info, and also observations from fellow fans on http://www.reddit.com , etc.

The current forthcoming season began filming in March 2012 and will begin airing in July.

not at all, i'm glad its coming to an end so it isn't ruined. I do however think its stupid that there gonna stretch the final season out for two years...

good list but watching the Sopranos again I would lower it a bit...

but that piece of shit Magic City making me appreciate it more...:smh:

I slept on this show for YEARS. I did not start watching it until December of last year.

yeah i didnt know shit about this show until WALTERS ocking. People was using walter whites pic's and posting vids of the show. Instead of WALTER real pics. Anyway it took me a couple weeks to go through the first three seasons:lol: through the power of mu:( Also got caught up with season 4:yes:

Pops told me about the show in 2008 and was like - "You've gotta check this show out." I started recording the episodes on the trusty VCR and then when I switched cable/digital packages, it didn't have AMC, MTV, and a few other networks. Checked online for Breaking Bad, and watched season 4 in full with pops. He even got his gf and her daughter into the show and we checked that finale and were :lol: at 4-13 ... FACE-OFF. Got my mom and her bf into the show and they're working season 1 now, and got a few homies into the series and they picked it up in season 3. I'm like - "Go back to the first 2 seasons to know the WHOLE story to this point ... shit ... hurry up ..."

That's their fucking job to approve new shows. The Wire ran it's season in full...They can find something new to fill the summer months.
