Bradley-Abregu at 147 tonight

This is a big fight for Bradly. He loses, his shot at the big time is done. He wins, and wins big, the door to all kinds of big fights and HBO paydays opens.

Definitely a good fight for bradley to test the 147 water as abregu isn't a monster at 147. Plus, if bradley wins and struggles, its a good gauge for him as to how he can handle 147. I see a bradley win but I stilll think he is better suited for 140 and while the money is obviously there for a few fights at 47, I believe longevity and legacy are better suited at cleaning up 140. It may be fools gold to blow out abregu as it may give him a false sense of security at 147.

Good analysis. It's unlikely he'll get Mayweather or Pacquiao so he and HBO should be building up the very deep 140 division.

If Floyd v Pac doesn't happen... I could see floyd fighting Berto and Pac v Bradley...

Pac's going to fight either Margarito or Clottey, Bradley's not on his radar.

Berto might get Floyd but he really should have been trying to get another HBO fight under his belt. The space between him and May/Pac is immense. He brings nothing to the table as an attraction or even as an opponent. What does Floyd or Manny gain by beating him?

Isn't Margarito still fighting to get back in to boxing the US? I don't know if Manny could move up to fight Cotto....I know it is a leap to think it would happen but Manny fought Clottey who was almost on the same level as Bradley as far public popularity.

Arum's talking about them fighting in Monterrey, Manny and Antonio that is.
He did fight Clottey but those 700k buys was telling and they had to be thrown in his face during negotiations with Mayweather. They'll have to see how he looks tonight whether they'd risk fighting Tim.

i have seen a couple of timothy bradley fights. he got some good skills.

money mayweather would beat him up but i think his style would give pacman some trouble

any good streams for the fight

Mayweather doesn't BEAT anybody up, he puts on boxing shows and he's the best at it. Pac beats people up and he's the best at that, that's what makes their match up so interesting. Bradley decisions Abregu tonight but he better be careful, Abregu can punch and this is new territory for Tim.

Jesus Christ... Between Angulo and Alcine not one punch was wasted. Everything they threw had ill intent.

Brad's putting on a good show without being boring. It might be too soon for him to fight a heavy welter like Berto but he's definitely skilled enough to match up with him.

I'm missing the whole fight:angry:, but do I see Bradley/Judah in the near future?

Intriguing, Zab is still good enough to give him a good fight and it would be a nice name to add to Bradley's resume. Though all the talk of Zab being "back" after fighting what amounted to a tomato can is:hmm:

It's sad Zab has been reduced to a (self-induced)measuring stick for up-and-coming fighters. On another note, Monte Barrett just got robbed!

Bradley doesn't have the pop or speed to be a scary threat. He has skills but if he brawls with Manny or sleeps at all it is a wrap.

I agree, but Bradley may not have grown into his power yet and I don't think that's a risk Mannys camp will take, especially w/ a minor name like Bradleys.

That would be good fight for him to make very soon if he's seriouis about fighting at welter. He called out all the major names at jr. welterweight but when guys start moving up, I'm always leery of them going back down. But if he can make the weight safely, more power to him.

Yep.

Damn.

As good as Bradley is, the sad thing is that it is evident on this thread why he is/will not be a viable option for Floyd or Manny...124 views/21 replies...no market or money in that fight. A thread could be started detailing Floyd/Manny taking a shit and it would warrant 10 pages and 500 replies! :D

 Bob Arum said basically the same thing Friday night when he was asked about Tim being an option if Floyd/Manny doesn't happen. He praised Bradley's skills, toughness, etc. then said "the problem is you(the reporter) know who he is, and I know who he is. But the public doesn't know."

 That's why I always dismiss him when his name comes up. Some people don't like to hear or think about the business side of sports but, ultimately, that's the most important part.

Finally, a frank and honest Arum.

Seeing that his rehydrated weight was 149 for his welterweight fight, I see Bradley being the dominant welter in a very short time span, if he wants to.
Maybe Oscar can hide Amir Khan from him long enough for Brad to move up.

Yeah I was thinking fuck it he can always fight Berto.

It would be even better if Devon Alexander moves up as well. The welterweight division needs replenishing and some top jr. welters should make the move while the eyes of boxing are on that particular division.

He could move up but why? The money guys aren't going to fight him and when they retire, Its only going to be Berto, Bradley and maybe that red haired mexican (can't think of his name now).

Devon should dominate Jr. Welter and see what develops at welter. Bradley will come to his sense soon and fight Devon.
