Africa, I just want to stick my hands in that earth and grab two huge hand fulls and turn and look out at the sea and know that America is somewhere out there, and let America, and the world know the part of me that comes from there, that strength, that stands living on that day. No matter what.

But you're right. For the most part the game reserves still provide a pseudo-controlled natural habitat for the animals.

Had a good time. I'm back home in Baltimore. Just walked in the door.
I was there all this week; as stated above, I just got back home.
This was first time in my visits to Africa that I had a chance to do a safari ride. [I've been to Niamey, Niger; Abidjan, Cote D'Ivoire; and Bujumbura, Burundi.] So I wasn't gonna miss out on the opportunity.
I thank my old NCOIC from my Pentagon days for telling about this job when it became available, Shywriter.
Beautiful pics, GP...those animals look amazing! One day, I'll be heading over there myself to see it all with my own two eyes. Many of my homegirls were able to go over to Africa as missionaries or during graduate or undergraduate studies...I should start saving up now to take such an expensive trip, but I know it'll surely be worth it...
