A few weeks back, a man jumped to his death from da 30th somethin' floors of one of da buildings here in Midtown in da A just moments after I had left da area from work. Hit balconies w/folks standin' on 'em on his way down & err'thing. I'm never around for da action so it seems. How is it that err'body else always seems to have their camera phones running??? I wonder what was on this dudes mind though. Clearly he's an attention whore to kill himself by jumpin' in front of a train. Whatever happened to a shotgun to da grill or slicing ones wrists in a tub??? Gotta go out in style I guess. :dunno:

Lucky for dude with the bag it was caught on video, because there would have been at least two witnesses swearing up and down, in court, they witnessed him push him.

I've heard that if suicide yourself on the train line in Japan, your family is responsible for lost revenue due to the train not running.

The source where that started is very questionable (Waiwai) and is likely overblown because the rate that they quoted was something like 2 million dollars US. It's nowhere near that high.

and FWIW, the same thing happened a few times in the US. NY and Chicago have sued families to collect damages when suicide jumpers damaged city property. It's your standard civil case.
