Bob Arum On The UFC (funny as fuk)

Bernard is no fool. He knows that he can make a good living training a lot of these UFC fighters how to box.
If he plays his cards right, he could make a mint off training MMA fighters after he retires.

Well of course anyone with a modicum of editing experience knows how easy it is to juxtapose a persons words with 5 seconds clips of one thing and contrast it with a another. Thats like having a jew speaking about how evil Hitler was then showing clips of Hitler holding babies, and petting kittens. The truth about MMA is that each 20 minute fight features about 2 minutes of action mixed with 18 minutes of feeling each other out and rolling around. Are there exceptions? Of course. Give me a big boxing event over a big MMA event any day of the week.

The problem is marketing. Boxing has priced itself out of the mainstream. All of the decent fights are on HBO or PPV. Its a sport of independent contractors. UFC has the benefit of being under one umbrella so it runs 100 times more efficiently. Right now boxing is a mess structurally. 100 different belts, 100 different promoters etc etc. There is no incentive to change it because ppl are making so much cash the way it is.

One thing you'll NEVER see in MMA is a black man making 30+ million for a fight..

The CAC owners of the UFC making ALL the dough..

I don't know why anyone would listen to Arum... he is full of shit about everything.

MMA, in general, isn't my cup of tea. I like the strikers and that is why I will never come in MMA thread talking big shit. I don't know much about the sport. I gave it a few tries... but it isn't for me.

I might fuck with it more if they broke up the ground shit more often since a lot of what I've seen doesn't seem to go anywhere, but with the ground game being an important part of the real fight element... I don't know how that is possible. So I'll stay in my lane.

If you don't like it... move on...

I like your approach. More fight fans should be like that instead of calling shit gay and talking about the ground game like the shit isn't tactical. You admit its importance, but simply state it isn't for you. You don't knock the fighters or the fans.

Anyone who thinks that shit is boring and/or gay should drop the $60-$100 your local MMA gym may be charging and roll for a month. After learning that the ground game is just as much a sweet science as the sweet science, people wouldn't be downing MMA.

I respect the thought process behind it and I understand the strategy... just not my vibe.

I was like a lot of dudes at first, because I've seen matches were a big will just lay on a cat to run out the clock...:smh:

I peeped better fights, seen most of Silva's fights and see what I think is dope about the sport... which I know is some what equivalent to watching Roy Jones Jr. and shitting on the Winky Wright's of the game.

So I try my hardest not to talk crazy anymore because I know practical skills play a bigger part to the sport then the flashy shit.
