^^^^ I know; I like the concept but somethings didn't quite make sense.... Like this guy should have shown up sooner

WHY?

Because Captain America would have found out about the bullshit the gov't pulled on ol boy and asked him to come back.

Thought it was Bullshit. Out of all the Black Men to get powers in the 1950's, it had to be a him. Mr. Goody 2 Shoes. I would have kicked every White Persons ASS!

as much I love the concept of brutha, or sista, being on par with comics big guns like Superman, Hulk, THor, and Mr. Majestic; characters like Blue Marvel and Hancock have some potential - problem is their existence raises too many questions like - where were they (Blue Marvel and Hancock) when: MLK, MALCOLM X, AND JFK WERE ASSASSINATED, RACE RIOTS OF THE LATE 60'S, and for Hancock to have been around as long he has what shit like, I don't know - let me see......:hmm: How about the WHOLE AFRICAN SLAVE TRADE!
Kinda reminds me of when that old black man asked Hal Jordan why wouldn't he at least intervene for black people like he for COUNTLESS ALIENS.....? Too many questions like that come up.

(like could Storm have stopped Hurricane Katrina from killing so many people)

Yeah those are valid question but not question that comics should be held to.

Then the books would become too political.

Shortly, after 911 there were a lot of indie books that came out with heroes stopping it from happening and shit...those reaction books did not have any life because they were not powered by imagination.

Awhile back Marvel did a reaction book using Supreme Power characters with Hyperion and Nighthawk engaging issues of Darfur Conflict with sales going to charity...

These books make for great mature stories but often times they don't sale...

And let's not forget most of the writers are white and very few of them will tackle such hot topics.

........

On another note, this is a problem with big 2 - marvel and dc...they really won't address these issues because they are mainstream...while this topic is actually niche.

but they make these mistakes all the time...

Where were the other colored lanterns during zero hour...Where was all of this top hopping Batman nonsense when shit was going bad for Gotham like the earth quake...Where was Blue marvel when Inferno was going down...
