player 1 because he's got fewer years in the league so he's prolly got more years left than the others. going soley off stats of course

I'll take #2. #1 has great stats but 5 years means that he's was a 4 year player in college. With 2 I'll take the slightly higher FG% and him getting almost as many steals as he has turnovers. And his FG% on 2 pointers makes me think that he gets into the lane frequently.

Plus I slightly feel like this is a trick question.

Gimme #3... I like his 3pt and FT shooting. And I'll take 17 & 6 from my PG. Plus, he's a vet... I'll use his last 4-5 years to get my franchise going in the right direction.

And I'm with c_commander... this feels like a trick!

well i know who ain't on this list lol.
It's not asking the greatest point guard of all-time so nobody necessarily has to be on there, it's just judging a group based on strictly on numbers with no names attached to reduce bias and introduce new comparisons.

Who do you pick from the options presented?

I went with #1 but im seriously trying to find out who player 5 is....unless im trippin 10 seasons would put him at 18 his rookie year:confused:

player 1

a pg needs to dish out assists

plus he can naturally score when he wants too

hes light years above the rest here

player 1...only thing that made me hesitate was his TO's...but he's basically @ 20 and 10...his TOs ain't that bad considering he's giving a lot more where it counts...plus he has enough steals to kinda "balance" it a little...op check your pm

#1 I like the almost 10 assists and 2 steals again. I don't need 20 ppg from my point but I'll take it in this case.

If #1 had 3 more rebounds a game he'd be Walt Frazier. His numbers are like Zekes.

I just now actually voted, so I see this one was a landslide. The list is much tougher to assess from the bottom up!

Probably should have asked people to also rank them with this set.

I think the site I went off of was a year off with Parker's age. 28 vs 29 shouldn't make much difference, though.

Imagine just polling based on the names here... I think this is interesting even when the polling isn't close because it is a neutral and performanced-based means of judging without predispositions.

I would guess a poll on these players identified by name would finish Payton #1 with these same stats included. I suspect Parker would fare a LOT better and Hardaway a LOT worse. And without stats-- based simply on preconceived and possibly permanent opinions associated with that name, there would be an even more drastic effect.

Of course, these stats don't give a full picture and they're especially lacking on the defensive end. (Suggested improvements, let me know!) This is by no means definitive. But it damn sure says something.
