Students at UNCP face harassment by Lumbee natives with guns, racial slurs and maga support in the city of Pembroke, NC. These Lumbee's are something else, man. African American blood runs deep in their lines. We must never forget the words of Dr. John Henry Clarke "Black people have no friends". This has been one hell of a week race relations in eastern NC. Let's see how the university and local community handles this. Black students make up 31% of the student population. Those students need to remember that NC is home to the most HBCU's in the US.

Unfortunately this doesn’t surprise me at all as I attended a summer session course at UNCP. Did not have many good encounters with the Native Americans in Lumberton/Pembroke & was happy to get back to Chapel Hill when fall semester began. When I was there for the summer, I didn’t think black students made up that much of the population (2007).
But aren't they an officially recognized native tribe, or were these impostors? I wouldn't think they want to come at us like that.

Brothers, despite what the "his" - story they try to force upon you, know this:
1. Most Native American tribes fought each other.
2. Many Native American tribes also enslaved our ancestors or captured runaways and traded them for goods.
3. Many tribes learned to hate the black man the same way whites did and treated us as such.
This is personal for me. My great-grandmother is Seminole and my great grandfather is a black man from West Florida. They had my grandmother. The tribe told my great-grandmother to either kill my grandmother or be banished from the reservation. They wanted nothing to do with our black skin. My family has been called ****** more by Native American than crackas.

I have a similar story. My great grandmother was half Georgia Cherokee. My grandmother told me her mother was, as the used to say "color struck", and treated my grandmother worse than her other children because my grandmother had very dark skin. My grandmother married a very light skinned black man to make her mother happy.
That is a fair assessment; but the town of Pembroke is populated with a bunch of backwood poor Native Americans that do not care about being on the right side of history. As unfortunate as it sounds, a lot of those backwood Native Americans in that town do look down upon black people. I will not argue that they identify as white, but they look at black people through white eyes (if that makes sense).
Lumbee are largely a bunch of mixed breed, inbred, poverty stricken, uneducated, identity crisis suffering drunkards. Not uncommon to find one brown skin, nappy haired and blue eyed. A bunch of fucking "native" mutts who conduct themselves like white trash.

Some of them Lumbees have Black features (light brown skin, 4c hair, etc.)....and are often mistaken for being Black American, but despite the fact, they are not our brothers.
However, I bet some cats will make excuses because they want sexual access to the cute Lumbee girls that occasionally pop up
Facts, and some of these conscious cats wanna claim them as our own, let alone romanticize the image of the Native Indian.......If only they knew this part of the game
On a side note, I know Black folks that experienced racism at the hands of the Natives up in Fargo.

I'm originally from Lumberton. That's just a small segment of Lumbee. Just flash the "straightener" on those giving you a problem and they'll be on good behavior.
