You want a harsh truth? It did hurt us in some aspects.

First, do you know what group actually benefited the most from affirmative action?? Of course you don't because if you did you wouldn't have used it as an example. I will let you research. Discovery has more impact than revealing.

Second, comparing civil rights to a child tax credit is a false equivalence in the most egregious sense. Who did Civil Rights benefit? Who does the CTC benefit?

Third, my initial argument was that the BBB should not be an all or nothing situation. If taking the CTC off of the table gets it done, then do it and revisit the CTC conversation afterwards. It's about priorities, compromise, and smart negotiating. Three things Democrats constantly drop the ball doing.
