At least he's there and making an effort instead of fuckers like Bush that wouldn't even take time out of his vacation to help a poor people in a flooded N.O. Clinton probably was tired as hell from all the work he does and plus the nigga on the podium didn't seem to be talking about anything interesting. It was the same ol' "Martin had a dream, had a dream, had a dream...so on and so forth" bullshit. I'm not trying to defend Clinton but I know if I had a long day/night and I heard this cat talking I'd drift off too. I know it's great to honor MLK Jr. and we shall never forget his "I Have a Dream" speech but it's time to move on by studying his other teachings too. I mean a Black man is actually a solid opponent in the race for presidency...if that doesn't show that we have progressed than nothing else will. People reduce MLK down to one speech thus losing sight of his complete goal.

You right about King and the absurd focus on his "I have a dream" speech, although few even know what the fuck else was said in that speech beyond those four words...BUT you are defending Clinton...his behavior is representative of the complete disrespect that most elected officials have for Black people. Showing up at these events is just proforma and obligatory. Clinton presence is not suggestive of anything more then the MINIMAL lengths they will go to get some black votes.
Some prefer it more honest, more open. If you really don't give a fuck and about Dr. King and the issues facing Black people then go fishing, go to your fuckin vacation home and stay the fuck out of Black peoples business.

I'm not going to question Clinton's motives because I don't know the guy at all so I can't say if he really cared or not but that still is irrelevant. If you think he's pimpin' you pimp him back. Make him put his money where his mouth is and have him put money into community centers and try to get some of that Clinton Global Initiative money.

Wow, I don't know if Clinton falling asleep is worse than the people on here who seem to be defending and/or justifying him falling asleep. If he was that tired, then he should have stayed his ass at home that day. This was complete disrespect that cannot, and should not, be defended in any way, shape, or form. Its pathetic.
Yeah... Because we all know that MLK III had nothing interesting to say in reference to his father.
He's an old man and that speech was boring!!!!
