Real Rap, my son will not play any AAU/Travel ball until his Jr. Year. This shit is the primary reasons why, Kids get scholarships, and for the most part once they get to College they end up not getting any time. Totally fucks up the fundamentals of the game since all that shit is is a glorified all star game. Summers will be spent working with trainers, drills, conditioning, etc., and he will do his thing during the season. If you are good enough, colleges will find you regardless. Trying to win state championships is where the real competition is, this shit is a waste of time at this point...

I was going to put my kiddo on an AAU team this year but after the first interaction with a league rep I decided against it.
It was like they were interviewing for a job interview just to try out for the game.
Not to mention the cost.
Its funny cause the father of one of the kids on the team that blew them out works with me. He told me about the blow out as soon as it happens. His son is a sophmore and is the small forward (#6). He had 34 points that game. Hes a beast too but he said this lil kid DJ has super range and was lighten Mello ass up. Hahaha
Although I don't have any problem with the father trying to build a brand for his kids, he made them marked players. Everyone wants to bust their asses.

To me he was the best and most complete player on the court.
