After years in development and a few different homes, Powers is finally set to debut on the PlayStation Network.

Brian Michael Bendis, the co-creator of the comic book series that is the show’s source material, announced that Powers will premiere on the PlayStation Network on March 10.

The first three episodes will debut on March 10, and the first will be available to watch free at playstation.com/powers. The entire first season will be free to watch for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Plus is Sony’s service that allows PlayStation 3, 4, and Vita players to play games online, take advantage of special deals and download new games each month for a yearly fee of $49.99.

After the initial three episodes, a new episode will debut every subsequent Tuesday, and Bendis will appear on Late Night with Seth Meyers tonight to discuss more about the show.

Bendis also announced that a new edition of the first Powers comic will be available beginning Jan. 21 in comic book stores and on Comixology.

Powers, the story of two detectives investigating crimes in a world of superhumans, is the first scripted live-action series produced for Sony’s PlayStation Network. Sharlto Copley, Michelle Forbes, Eddie Izzard, Susan Heyward, Noah Taylor, and Olesya Rulin star in the series.

7 Things That The “Powers” TV Show Is Changing From The Comics

1. The TV show won’t begin at the same point as the comics, but will start with a story arc that comic readers will be familiar with.

Fingers crossed that we’ll still get to see some form of Kaotic Chic.

2. TV Deena got to the Powers Department after being fired from her old precinct.

According to Susan Heyward, “She starts from a wounded place…she needs a new home and place to be herself.”

3. On the show Christian Walker has no secret identity, Deena knows that he used to have powers.

The fact that Walker had powers is the only reason he has a badge. Deena’s the one with trained deductive skills and teaches Walker how to be a real detective.

4. When we meet Calista she’ll be a teenager already, not a child.

She’ll at a point where she knows she has powers and is looking for a mentor to help her develop them.

5. Zora on the other hand, will be much younger in the show, roughly around Calista’s age.

She and Calista are in the same boat, up and coming powers who need guidance and a mentor more then anything else. Zora is a little older and a little more experienced in the costumed superhero game than Calista, but she’s very much still in her formative years. Logan Browning said about her character, “Zora is still discovering what her world is.” But because she’s so young, roughly 18 or 19, Browning says Zora’s romantic history with Walker won’t play out in the TV show.

6. TV Johnny Royale’s agenda will put him in competition with Walker as a potential mentor for Calista.

TV Johnny’s focused on providing a place for kids with natural powers, at a price. He has a true disdain of people with induced powers that will play through the course of the season.

7. Retro Girl is still retro, but the production art that was teased exclusively at NYCC showed off a 60’s Vogue day wear vibe, and a very modern, streamlined, full coverage flight suit.

The modern fashion might be a hint at how celebrity has changed Retro Girl in the TV show.

Brian Michael Bendis said he considers the TV show and the comics as parallel universes, and so far both of them seem incredibly enticing.

No feeling his partner, they could have used someone actually cute.

Now I will just sit here and wait for someone to call me coon etc, and claim I've bought into the white man's idea of beauty because I think the broad is ugly.

as one who never read the comics, the 1st episode is alright. it's interesting. the special effects are similar to something on syfy. i don't know if i will be following it for the whole season.
