Move away from the Dominican Republic.
I don't know how much the two of them have in common, but I suggest that they move away from the Dominican Republic because he might minimize the opportunity that she has of meeting a younger man that she might have more in common with.
I once knew a Defense Attorney, young (probably in his mid 30's or early 40's at the time), successful, decent looking who decided to marry a young lady from the Dominican Republic who was about 17 or 18 at the time (I believe he might have been Dominican also, if not he I know he was Hispanic).
He ended up getting arrested on an assault charge because he allegedly got into a verbal disagreement with her that quickly escalated into a physical brawl.
One of the problems was that when she came to New York he made sure that she enrolled in High school. I commend him for his efforts in making sure that she should continue to pursue her education. However, when she started attending school in New York she started to meet other young people and young men that she probably had more in common with than him and she wanted to "hang out" with her "new friends."
He might have caught her cheating with one of her "new friends," and all hell broke loose.
