when wyclef sang covered California Love, that shit sounded EXACTLY like the original song!
G mo B put on one of the best hip hop show i ever been to. when they opened for Fishbone, they did a heavy metel version of Cell Therapy that got naggas WILD! it was the first concert i had been to that made me exhausted after seeing them.

fellas, if u wanna get some serious rhythm from some very fine, single, successful and connected women of all races, attend these singers concerts.....

-michael mcdonald & steely dan (hearing 40ish year-old white dudes screaming "Regulators!" when he sang I Keep Forgettin' was classic!)
-boz skaggs
-dave koz
-kenny g
-wayman tisdale
-cassandra wilson
-Kem (a BIG must)
-nora jones
-michael franks
the Playboy Jazz Festival (if ure in LA in the summer)

im a big fan of these artists, but these were the shows where i met/dated women that were sitting on a some high six (some 7) figured mature women that love to spoil a young kat such as myself.

you on the money with these!!! steely dan/mike mcdonald OFF THE CHAIN!!! mcdonald got a sister for a drummer and she kills it!!! sings too!!!

for the fam that posted the john meyer, i saw him a couple of years ago and he and his lead guitarist killed it!!! did a part where they played each other's guitar that was SICK!!!

went to a few BANGIN hip hop show in the 80s/90s.

went to the 1st show back for heavy d after t-roy died. PE was on it, digital underground and kool g rap.

was at the show that made the source greatest moments in hip hop issue. kool moe dee on stage and right before he goes into how you like me now, ll cool j comes from off stage to the stage!!! moe dee stops the song, calls him out to battle and ll just goes back off stage. everybody went nuts!!!

another good one was epmd, eric b & rakim, eazy e, bdp & doug e fresh!!!

2. Prince at Phillips Arena 3years ago: OMG this is what I missed out on when I was young and broke! Incredible show. DIMES EVERYWHERE!
3. Rachelle Ferrelle is probably the best singer I have ever seen live. Church included! DUDE is telling the TRUTH!! 05 at civic center, most incredible range/breath control/phrasing i have ever seen!! After that I bought All her old shit!!
4. Teena Marie/Rick James at the Fox, :Ricks voice was so-so but still incredible show form start to finish, and don't even let me started on Teena, she IS Black!!
Rick would die 3 mo. later.

Roots,Bilal,Cyprus Hill,Busta Rhymes,Douggie Fresh,Capleton,Spragga Brenz, Luciano, Mos-Def,Chilli Peppers,A-keys,TooL,Fishbone,Ohio Players.
See any of these acts/money well spent!

I go way back....there use to be a club in Boston, the Sugar Shack. They would bring in acts and they would have shows there every night for a week, two actually with a matinee on Sunday.I saw everyone there from Al Green,LTD,Bobby Womack...Roy Ayers,Mtume to the Temptations.

But nobody tore it up like George Clinton and ParlimentFunkadelic....
There is nothing like seeing someone in a small club,up close and personal.I would go down in the middle of the week and catch a show and then all weekend.

I wish there was something like that now...

Barkays...again unless you seen them live,,,,, can't help you

#3 The original Isley Brothers...nough said....they had 6 to 7 solid jams on their album and the album only had 8 to 9 jams.....so the concert went from 80 to 100..no 0 to 60!!!!

3 concerts, first off, i am in my late 40's. i love the hiphop and rap, yes, there is a difference. however, my favs are as follows:
1. Bob James & Earl Klugh: aint nothin like chillin to the album One on One.
2. Parlament Fuckadelic: 14th row, center, aint nothin like seeing George and Bernie Worell and them damn horn players just wreck the Chicago Stadium (this was b4 the United Center). I aint never seen so much smoke in the air in my life. But this concert was off the mf chizzel.
3. The Jacksons: Of course this was b4 Mike got weird. Tell me who has lusher harmonies than the Jacksons. Mike was cold blooded, but them cats together was awesome, 5th row center. ALso saw Stacy Stanislaw - only old skool fellas understand.

2. Parlament Funkadelic

I've seen my share of concerts but these by far have all ways deliverd

1. Luther Vandross
2. Patti Labelle
3. Al Jarreau
4. David Sanborn
5. Prince

The Roots
Steele Pulse/Daddy Freddy/Shelly Thunder/The Specials/English Beat at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles
Beres Hammond/Lucky Dube/Barrington Levy/Cocoa T/Frankie Paul at Reggae Sunsplash
Black Jack Johnson at the HOB on Sunset
The Jacksons back in the day at old Chicago Stadium, that was my first show

Without question I would have to put Prince at the top of my list...
every concert from Purple Rain ~ Musicology.

Sade concerts are always incredible.

Luther Vandross live was the most flawless singer I have ever heard in my life.
