Sources are stating that the parties for newly crowned IBF Welterweight champion Andre Berto (28-1, 22 KOs) and mandatory challenger and former world champion Randall Bailey (42-7, 36 KOs) have reached an agreement for both to meet, likely in early 2012. Its being said the only hold up now is for HBO to approve the official date.

Bailey has been patient for years working back up to a title fight on espn and on the road all over. He still has KO power and I hope he has enough in the tank do this fight justice. I think he is ranked in the top five in that division. I think, lol.

Fuck it, Berto doesn't have it in him to get it popping. I see him fighting mid tier guys until the end. He has a lot of talent, but he doesn't want to box. He wants to out gun people in brawls. I'm even cool with that if you are a guy with the heart to fight who ever like Maidana.

I don't know his walkaround weight, but I wonder if he's looked into moving up to jr middle. There's a lot of good fights there for the making. He could even get that Collazo rematch. Won't mean much now but it could be made.
