Ben Gordon Considering European League?

I think he is just using this to try and negotiate a contract...he was dumb for passing on that deal the Bulls offered him last year...he won't get one better than that..he is a 6'2 shooting guard..

He ain't no bum thats for sure, he can get that deal better from another team or overseas.

Josh Childress got niggas ready to bounce.

He aint no bum...he can put the ball in the basket...20 points a night style...but he isn't a point guard, and is suspect on D...so turning down 10 mill a year last year just didn't seem too smart to me...but I guess we shall see..

Has the pendulum shifted (due to salary cap, decline in dollar, etc.)? I remember European players invading the NBA like it was D-Day once upon a time...What's going on...

if enough niggas bounce they gonna have to start getting those foreign leagues on streaming video.

i hope some more top high schoolers go to europe for a year like jennings. fuck the NCAA!

nah, D you got it right. Both Gordon and Deng passed up good money last year, then when nobody gave a shit, their moral went down they played poorly , got hurt and had bad seasons, now no one is making them offers. They stuck their heads up their asses because Kirk got a bigger deal (which was a bad move) so they want more because they are better players... Suck it up, win a title and the $ will come. For now, fuck Ben... And Deng too for that matter

Deng may get a big time deal but I don't see Gordon getting a much better offer than the one the Bulls put on the table last offseason...that is probably no longer on the table..he will just have to play it out this year and hope someone gives him a big deal next year when he is unrestricted or take his ass back to Europe...

the Bulls made them the same offer last year, and they both declined it was like 5 years at about 55mil. Both players had declining numbers and had nagging injuries... I don't see them getting offers bigger than that. Deng is a 17/7 guy and Ben will hover near 20pts while giving you nothing else. Those are good players but are they worth more than 11-12 mil per? I don't think either one is, Especialy when you consider that Ben can't defend. Bulls should let them play out the contracts or work for sign and trade deals

Josh Childress signed the biggest contract in Euro league history and that was only 20 mil for 3 years(I think). No way a team over there can pay more than the bulls are willing to pay. If he's using this as a negotiation tactic, it's weak. :smh:

Yup,
Both them Ninjas was dumb to turn down that type of money.....for their respective skills. The problem is that no team is willing to OVERSPEND this year on those guys. Most teams are stashing their salary cap space to make room for the big YEAR of 2010 when the who's who of young NBA talent are free agents.

Deng whoever as said will probably get close to the payday that he is looking for....but just NEXT YEAR.

Gordon however :smh: This ninja is a small, no defense playing, combo guard, that is inconsistent. I don't think even the Knicks would give that guy close to a MAX DEAL.

Oh Really?

the question is: has been gordon peaked in his development?

personally, i think we've seen the best he can offer.

great shooter.
average athlete.
below-average defender.
not very explosive to the rack.
can't shoot moving to the right.

in other words, this dude ain't A.I.

Maybe you were talking about with the Bulls though

With his lack of defense, and lack of desire to play defense, he'll fit right in in Europe.

I like BG, but won't be devastated if he bounces....he wants to be a starter when he's better suited to be a 6th man.

Height is an issue at the 2, but Joe Dumars was 6'2" TOPS and started.....the difference is....JOE DUMARS PLAYED DEFENSE. Add that with the fact the Bulls current team is not built for a short, suspect D playing 2 (BG has a torch when he get hots though, I won't front) and a PG who hasn't hit a jumper in three years and has to play D against the opponent's 2 all game.

I've been waiting for Sefolosha to get some more tick anyway.....

Chicago paid Kukoc but didn't pay Pippen he had to leave to get paid.

Chicago ownership is racist.

O'really is right - Pippen left the bulls because Mike left, Rodman left and the dynasty was over and he wanted to jump on the supposed Rockets dynasty with Chuck and Hakeem. He would have gotten his pay from the Bulls, but was ready to leave. He Signed a 7 year horrible contract prior to Kukoc even being thought of , that every one told him was too low and too long at the time. The bulls made him honor that deal. Pip got paid eventualy, maybe not by the Bulls (who are racists, but so is the entire NBA)(and they brought him back and gave him 10 mil for nothing in his last 2 seasons) but he did get paid, along with other NBA "champions" Judd Bucheler and even Steve Kerr got paid after the Bulls runs. Posey got a raise from being on the Celtics this season... think he would have got that $ on a losing team? Plus playoff bonuses, and just being known as a winner is worth thinking long term.

Childress' number at 3 yrs/20 million is in dollars with the exchange rate factored in. I'm with you. Gordon was dumb for turning down that deal and won't get as much let alone anything better.
