The really bad thing is people have to work for these organizations and corporations to feed their families so they are doing the dirty work for 10 bucks an hour while basically facilitating their own oppression. We have got to find new ways of creating and distributing wealth thats the only way out of this.

On that second part, Instill values & say NO to materialism. It is our quest for wealth that leads to our oppression, get out of debt & f*ck wealth.
It's really a matter of free will. Just because the system is in place doesn't mean people have to obey it, they could always grow their own food, make their clothes, build their homes. The system works because scientific observation has proven people don't want to sacrifice, think for themselves. The way to change the system is to change behavior.
That's the crux of it.
And too many are swayed by bright, shiny things and are short-term thinkers.
If my system supplies the basics: food, clothing, and shelther with money...
but their system supplies ipdos, gas-guzzling SUVs, and McMansions with debt...
despite the fact my system is sustainable and long-lasting, they will choose the other (temporary and wasteful) system because it appeals to their desire for instant gratification.
Sacrifice, discipline, and moderation are no fun.
Excess, luxury, and indulgence are fun.
The system of waste will beat the system of moderation every time.
Iwas talking to a older woman the other day about the cold weather and how it would make gas bills higher. She said it didn't bother her because she paid them what she had they can't turnoff the gas in cold weather. I didn't know that but I knew hospitals had to take whatever a patient paid them. It got me thinking about whether that applied to credit cards and mortgages. If it does people can start paying what they want to pay instead of the whole bill lol, that would change the game completely. Anyone with some expert knowledge about this should school us and lets start changing things. lol
I wouldn't confuse compassion or what might be reasonable under the circumstances -- with obligation, if I were you.

I don't see the connection you're referring too but if a person enters a agreement with a bank and the bank changes the agreement by raising interest rates or adding new fees or sells the loan is it still a agreement, obligation or is it servitude. I think that is what so many people are upset about. Banks changes the rules and expect us to go along with it. We have to find ways to even the playing field because they certainly won't do it.
