A Cook County judge has issued an arrest warrant for former Chicago Bulls star Eddy Curry in connection with an unpaid settlement in a civil lawsuit that has been sealed, according to the Cook County Sheriff's office.
The arrest warrant was issued June 16 and comes after Curry allegedly failed to make full payment on a six-figure settlement involving a woman who sued Curry, according to court documents.
Her attorney, Larry Rogers Sr., said Curry failed to make a final payment to his client in 2008 — an amount with interest that totals nearly $200,000.
Curry's attorneys didn't return repeated calls for comment. The sheriff's office was given the warrant, which lists Curry's suburban Burr Ridge home as his residence. In such civil matters, the sheriff's office typically seeks out attorneys for the wanted person and they arrange for them to turn themselves in, according to Steve Patterson, a sheriff's spokesman.
The warrant requires Curry to turn himself in at any courthouse in Cook County and lists a $150,000 cash bond, which Curry would be expected to post before he is released from custody.
