After beating top ranked Louisville the other day
we are giving Pitt all they can handle. And might
just pull off another hugh upset. I know we lack
depth, but we got that old Hoya style defensive
pressure thing going....

Darryl Hill and Lamont Hamilton are good classic
Big East players. Anthony Mason Jr. is decent too
Coach Norm Roberts got them boys playing hungry

We may not win alot, but St. John's basketball is
fun to watch again....

No, not until they can keep top rated recruits from NYC and not have them go to UCONN and even Pittsburgh.

St. John's has ALWAYS lost the top NYC recruits to other parts
of the country. Through time im-memorial. Never stopped them
from being competitive. Basically because NYC and the entire
Metropolitan area is one gigantic recruiting ground for basketball
talent. Plenty of talent to go around here

The key is too have a coach who doesn't view coaching here as
a stepping stone to a bigger job. It's no accident that Lou was
successful because he never wanted to leave (after coaching
the Nets)....

Coach Roberts should sign a long term deal. THEN we can worry
about recruiting

Not with Carneseca

Walter Berry, Mark Jackson, Bill Wennington and Chris Mullin were top recruits and also top college players.

Mike Jarvis alienated local high school coaches and ruined relationships in the city.
