I feel certain that King had many inspirations and probably borrowed from many including, for example, Mohandas Gandhi. As has often been pointed out, Gandhi’s philosophy directly influenced King who employed a lot of those nonviolent direct action strategies in the 1955 to 1956 Montgomery bus boycott. Without question, the totality of King, like the totality of us all, likely embodies many contributions, influences, lessons, etc., of others

But why does one have to exhibit an animus towards King to point out and uplift the contributions, of others ?
