update:

Thanks for all the responses. I didn't want to wait so I just bought them. Wore them yesterday during my workout and they feel good in the ear. I thought that they sounded good on some songs, but for the most part sounded hollow. I think the bass is too strong as well. I'm thinking about taking them back and getting the shures at the comparable price. I'll try them out for a couple of more days and see.

Forget Bose and Shure.

Go directly to the company that developed in-ear technoloy and the professional monitors that musicians use on stage. They also licenses out the components and some of the technology to the likes of Shure and Bose.

Small company called Etymotic Research.

You'l never know what your missin. I got my Shure's off of EBay for $350. Maybe because I am an Audiophile, I like my shit to sound perdect with my Ipod. My next venture is an amp for my Ipod. Prolly the Ray Samuels Hornet or Tomahawk and a Cryodock from ALOaudio.com

This is his rig and prolly the best sounding Ipod out there right now.

A pair of Grado HF-1's
A Hornet amp underneath it
Connected with the ALO Jumbo Cryo Dock.

Ety's are good, but they fall short of good bass next to the Shure E500's.
I've tested both. If I could find the graph that shows it, I'd post it.

I got the Bose. I was about to get on a long flight and they had a vendor in the airport. They aight. Comfortable and they shut out all the surrounding noise. I got the on ear ones, expensive. But, I'm sure I coulda done better with a little shopping time. I';m not mad though because I probably wouldn'ta taken the time and woulda still been saying (everytime I fly) "I wish I had some good earphones"

I got some Sony earbuds (in-ear) at BestBuy for about $40 and they work great and are cheaper than all the ones above. The Shure's are nice but since you are using these to workout with, you may not want to spend so much since they can get fucked up, if the are snagged.

From my experience, the Bose in ear headphones kept falling out of my ear and since there was no sound isolation, I sold them and moved on to the next pair. Bose is a respectable company, but as far as in ear monitors, they fall short.

I have the in-ear phones, I got them for 50 on the hook up. they sound great and isolate outside sound really well.. comes with a nice magnetic case and the build quality is top notch.

Ultimate ears makes som nice ear monitors too.
But for those still wanting Bose Speakers, click the link and read
http://www.intellexual.net/bose.html

I bought some Bose bookshelves speakers years ago, the small cube ones. A couple of days later I was at a high end speaker store looking for monster cables when the guy showed me some Boston Accustics that he said would blow out the Bose. He told me I could bring in the Bose and hook them up right next to the BA. I did and the Boston Accoustics blew the Bose away. I took the Bose right back and got my money back.

That's a good photo. What kind of camera do you use?

What happens when the wire shorts out??
Like with the dozens of headphones I have
bought in my lifetime??

As long as they have a wire, it can short.
and I would not pay that much for them...

They'll probably be 25 bucks a few years
from now when the market for them saturates

I can wait

I got them. Don't waste your money, they don't sound any better and it's too easy to loose the rubbers especially if they don't fit. They're a fight to keep in your ears if you sweat while working out! :smh:

definetly do not get them. For Bose sounded like all the others, and since it was Bose was expecting sometinh really good. Returned them and got these

This will do the trick, and real good when u working out too!

bose = bullshit. they sound good but not worth all the doe. if u ballin on a budget go with the shure e3's but if u got bread, definitely step it up to the e5's or etymotics. but dude becarefule using inear monitors like that in a gym...could be dangerous.
