Ok was about to just rollover my money from my profit sharing from the company I quit in Oct. 2014, I just left my money alone with J.P. Morgan. Planning on rolling over to Betterment but I just learned about Wealthfront just wanting some more opinions from the BGOL fam and hear some experiences with these two companies.

Wealth front has no fees for your first $10k Betterment charges .25 in addition to the expense ratio of the index funds you owe. The fees aren't necessarily bad but you can avoid all the fees and just buy the funds straight from vanguard. If you are too lazy to do any kind of research just get a betterment account.

Neither one has proven they can beat the market or a target date fund.

What's the difference between the two?
Pretty much the same from what I was reading, says you benefit more with Wealthfront if your money is <100k but not really that much. Betterment the only one I saw in action and it looks very easy to navigate through and set up account to roll over your money so I'm leaning that way.

Wealthfront intro to their service:

Sounds like a scam. Just for the fact you asking.
I don't think they are I know Betterment is pretty popular shit pops up on my mint account all the time but I will feel much better if I actually know someone personally or someone on BGOL could talk about their experience with one of these companies.

Not a scam, roboadvisors are the new thing, instead of paying someone to manage your finances, companies like Betterment will automate and diversify your investments for you without any face to face conversations. Pretty much all the brokerage firms are getting into these types of investments. Betterment is the most popular because they pretty much advertise on every blog and podcast.

Unless you putting in millions, you are investing for a steak dinner. Do vanguard anyway if you looking for some chump change.

I don't know and too lazy to be doing my own research on stocks and stuff and I need to put my money into something b/c I'm not making anything with J.P. Morgan since I quit my job back in 2014.

@lazarus So school me man, what should a person like me do with the 9k in profit sharing from my former company? I'm not educated on investing this myself, not planning on staying with my current company. I need something to do with this little bit of money and get it out of the J.P. Morgan account. To me it seems like betterment is my best option right now
