That out of the top 4 records in the NBA (Boston, Los Angeles, Orlando and Cleveland), all are led by players with no college experience??

And yes, Boston is led by GARNETT not Pierce. Pierce is the leading scorer, but Garnett sets the tone...period

Coincidence? Or setup?
:dunno: :itsawrap:

The Cs belong to Pierce!

KG is a leader when you talk the BIG 3, but Boston doesn't live or die with Garnett's play like they di PP.

You are correct in the fact that college doesn't necessarily guarantee success in the NBA.

interesting take.

but i would make a different case for 2 reasons:

1) i would contend that the fakers are lead by pau gasol. the pau gasol fakers have achieved a level of success that the fakers never SNIFFED with tobe in 3.5 seasons without shaquille o'neal.

2) i would contend that the emphasis is on teams with euro/international infection:

fakers: tobe, pau gasol, sasha vujacic, sun yue
orlando: hedo turkoglu, mikael pietrus
cleveland: zydrunas ilgauskas, sasha pavlovic, anderson varejao

thankfully, boston is euro free, and that is why they are my favorite of the four.

Had there's so many of them in the league now, not even noticed the euro factor. Pair up the semi-educated black players with so-called highly skilled and "intellilectual" euros. It sells overseas and that seems to be all they are concerned about

Never mind that half them suckers are dumb as a post on the basketball court. Don't matter to the untrained eye right? And for Deputy Dawg, the point I was making is that this is why the level of play is going DOWN, not that you don't need college experience to be successful. I would say just the opposite is true. The most successful players are the ones that DO have college experience. This season is an anamoly thus far, but none of them cats has won anything sans Kobe who, as Cran pointed out, had Shaquille (college educated) O'Neal leading the way. And even though KG led the Celtics to a title, it was Paul Pierce and more importantly, Ray Allen (both college graduates) that provided the mental toughness they needed to win it all
