i have cricket,,, i didn't fuck with it the 1st year it came to my area in 2006, because i heard the quality was poor,,, now i'm mad i didn't drop at&t sooner,,, the only people i know that have problems are the ones who bought the cheap cricket phones,,, i bought a $200 phone & have never had any problems,,, monthly bill with tax is like $44,,, unlimited everything & no contract

i have that kyocera lingo phone,,, yeah you can get any phone flashed to cricket, except at&t or t~moble phones,,, i switched to cricket at the beginning of this year,,, other carriers are losing biz to cricket left & right here

talk like this is why it took me so long to switch,,, i know you sell phones, & that's probably what your carriers are telling you to tell your customers,,, but that's not true,,, like i said, in my area, sprint, at&t, t~mobile, etc have lost tons of business to cricket,,, only people i wouldn't recommend get cricket is people who travel out of town frequently (cities like nyc have no cricket coverage,,, i can still text, but not call out),,, other than that, i've had my phone almost a year and haven't had any problems at all in my city,,, $120+ per month with at&t, compared to $44 with cricket (unlimited minutes, long distance, texting & no contract),,, it's a no brainer

i'm telling you as a former northcoast pcs dealer. many of these companies hand off refurbished equipment to customers and charge them like it's new phones.

the networks themselves cannot handle the congestion notice certain times of the day you have more problems with dropped calls signal issues, etc. because it's due to cell shrinkage. a cell tower is suppose to be able to do a range of a 5 mile radius. when that tower is hit with too exteme an abundance of calls that radius starts shrinking. so if your 3 miles out from a tower during peak times guess what happens? you get cut off. unlike the main wireless carriers these smaller companies don't have the money to put up enough towers to overlap their network to minimize the side effects of shrinkage issues. Nor can they do the roaming agreements with other companies and keep a profit on their plan which is why it's very limited coverage.

Cricket is ok if you never go anywhere but in your own neighborhood. I put my kid on that for a few months because he talks so damn much. But on a trip to Arizona, phone was useless as hell. No signal at all. We travel a lot and Cricket didn't get it done.

So I had to up my game and put him on Verizon. Cheaper for 4 phones on Verizon than it is on Cricket anyway. But price and feature wise for a single phone it's a good deal but the dead zones are enormous. Not to mention the phone choices are very limited.

the CATCH with metro, cricket, etc is this: the $45-50 service they have is good for when you are in your HOME service area. If you go out of town you will not have service unless you get a plan that lets you roam, and you will be charged for roaming. Now, all those companies offer $89-100 plans in which you can use the minutes ANYWHERE, like the $99 plans that at&t, tmobile, verizon offer. they try and undercut them by about $5-10 dollars, but its the same deal. thats the ONLY difference.

tmobile has the same deal but its no contract no credit check unlimited including internet email this dude its only 65 a months I have been doing it for a year. cricket4u@comcast.net
